It is disappointing to see a funeral advert banned for misleading families about what was included in its service.

When people are making decisions at one of the most difficult times in their lives, they should be able to trust that what is advertised is exactly what they will receive.

We Believe the Choice Should be Yours….

At Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Services, we offer a range of direct cremation options, always carried out with the utmost respect, compassion, and care for your loved one. Unlike many providers, we use traditional coffins and ensure every person entrusted to us receives the same high standard of care and dignity.

This morning, we conducted a direct cremation service at Dukinfield Crematorium. The family chose to have up to 12 close family members present to say their final farewells in a quiet and personal setting. Other families may prefer a more private arrangement, where their loved one is respectfully taken to the crematorium without anyone attending.

Every family is different, and we believe the choice should be yours. Whether you would like a small attended farewell or a simple unattended cremation, we are here to support you with kindness, guidance, and professionalism every step of the way.

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Paul Derwent, who died on 22nd May 2026.

In honour of Paul's life and memory, his family have asked us to create a tribute page where family and friends can come together to remember him. On the tribute page, you can find details of the funeral service, light a candle in his memory, share messages of condolence and support with the family, or, if you wish, make a donation to the RSPB, a charity that was very close to Paul's heart.

Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Mannion, affectionately known as Bob, announce his passing on 25th May 2026.

Bob was known and loved by so many throughout his life. His friendly nature, generosity, and wonderful sense of humour left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered, with his memory living on in the hearts of all who loved him.
