Baby shower gift

Now that this has been gifted I can share what I made this week.

A tummy time quilt for a new baby due in May.

I used super soft polyester wadding and soft cuddle fleece on the back. I didn’t have a pattern but I knew in my head what I wanted it to look like. I’m thrilled with how it turned out and how soft and snuggly it is.

Safe to say, Mum to be was equally as thrilled to bits. I added a corner pocket quilt label and slotted in a little letter explaining who I am (as the maker of the quilt) and why I made it.

Design Wall

Another quilt is on the design wall in the sewing room. This is as far as I have got with the Moda Blockheads 6 challenge. I had a few other projects going on in the background (as well as another quilt) that I have been working on but they’ve been finished (apart from the other quilt) so I’m hoping to get cracking on this again.

This won’t be the finished layout (I don’t think), I will decide that when I’m finished making all the blocks.

I have been making some bowl cosies today.
Great for use when removing hot bowls of soup from the microwave.
So simple to make and if using the correct wadding, you can actually use them in the microwave.

I am now so behind but anyhoo, here’s my block 5a.
I tried so hard to get that centre to marry up in the circle (I did fussy cut but obviously not very well lol).
Overall, I’m happy with it and I think it’s a great little block.
