Amanda Curbishley NAPA

Amanda Curbishley NAPA Contemporary artist. Love the sea, rivers, nature, colour, shape and texture I am fascinated by light, shape and colour in nature which is reflected in my work.

Using acrylic and mixed media I try to incorporate bright colours and textures into my paintings, which lean toward the semi abstract. Although my subjects are varied I now specialise in marine and water art. I am a regular exhibitor around Buckinghamshire including at the Obsidian Gallery, the Upstairs Gallery, Bucks Art Society Exhibitions, Bucks Open Studios, Bucks County Museum and various art

festivals. I have also exhibited at the Royal Society of Marine Artists exhibition and the ING Discerning Eye exhibition, both at the Mall Galleries in central London. I have taken part in 'Not the Royal Academy' at the Llewllyn Alexander gallery, London. I have sold to private collections both home and abroad. I am a member of National Acrylic Painters Association, the Buckinghamshire Art Society (now Chair of the society), Oxford Art Society and member of the Visual Images Group. I teach a drawing and painting class at the Queens Park Arts Centre and guest tutor at other local groups.

I've been experimenting with mixed media using, acrylic paint, ink and even a little spray paint. Then I used clingfilm and newspaper to help create the textures. I then found shapes and created some more pebble paintings with a lovely feel. (The second one is portrait shape.)The photos are not exact - why are blues so hard to photo! Perhaps visit me at in June to see them in the flesh, so to speak. www.curbiart.co.uk

THIS WEEKEND! the annual art exhibition at the Chilterns Neuro Centre in Wendover.

I'll be exhibiting some of my work alongside many talented artists. Their work will be exhibited over 2 floors.
The artwork will include paintings, pottery jewellery, glass art and more.

Tea, coffee cakes and lunches for you to enjoy whilst considering which is your favourite piece and maybe which to take home with you.

The team at the centre work incredibly hard to transform this treatment centre into a magical art venue, and it never disappoints.

This is a charity event which raises much needed funds for the amazing Neuro centre.

Free entry — we’d love to see you there!
