We’re delighted to share that planning permission has been approved for this project.

A considered floor plan designed to improve the way the spaces connect, function and are experienced.

We are looking forward to seeing the design progress from drawings to reality.

Set within the dramatic setting of a quarry in North Somerset, this contemporary home has been designed to sit comfortably within the existing landscape while making the most of its unique surroundings.

A quiet, material-led approach, where stone, timber and glass all come together to create a strong connection between architecture and landscape.

We're excited to share the initial designs for a beautiful new family home, located just outside of Wells.

Working closely with our clients, we're creating a home that combines traditional character with contemporary living. From the carefully considered layout to the traditional materials and detailing, every aspect has been designed to create a home that will be enjoyed for generations.

It's always rewarding to see a project begin to take shape, and we look forward to sharing more as the design develops and construction progresses.

Last week, the Orme Architecture team swapped site visits and design meetings for sheep, sunshine and a little healthy competition.

We kicked off the day with sheep herding, (harder than it looks!) followed by some Farm Olympics (where our competitive sides emerged).

After working up an appetite, we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the beautiful Nunney Castle before heading to Hauser & Wirth for a dose of architectural inspiration, a wander around the galleries and a much-needed cold drink.

To round off the day, we headed back to the office for garden games and an incredible pizza feast from Soul Dough.

A brilliant day with a brilliant team. Whether we're solving design challenges or trying to outsmart a flock of sheep, it's the people around us who make Orme Architecture what it is.

This contemporary home is now entering its final stages, and it's fantastic to see the design taking shape.

From the crisp brickwork and deep overhangs to the striking timber cladding and expansive glazing, every detail has been carefully considered to create a home that feels both modern and connected to its surroundings.

We're looking forward to sharing the completed photography once the finishing touches, landscaping, and interiors are complete.

We're delighted to congratulate Daisy Denny-Higgins on her well deserved promotion to Associate Director at Orme Architecture.

Joining us in January 2016 as a Part I Architectural Assistant, she progressed to Part II Architectural Assistant in August 2018, before qualifying and becoming an Architect in December 2021. Over the past 10 years, she has consistently demonstrated professionalism, creativity and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional architecture.

Her promotion to Associate Director is a testament to her hard work, leadership and the invaluable contribution she has made to our practice.

Please join us in congratulating Daisy on this fantastic achievement. We look forward to seeing all you achieve in your new role!

A little glimpse into studio life at Orme Architecture this June.
A shared Italian lunch where everyone brought something in, a picnic in the office garden shade during the heatwave, fresh flowers brightening the reception desk, gentle background music while our heads are down, and our usual chatty lunchtime walks. It’s these everyday moments that make the practice what it is.
The projects matter, but so does the atmosphere we create around them.
