Our Christmas wreath workshops take place at Home Close Flowers, in our own home. And it’s a setting that feels rather fitting for a spot of Christmas creativity.

With its Arts and Crafts heritage, beautiful wood panelling and craftsmanship woven into the interiors, Home Close has a real connection to the natural world and the things we make by hand. It’s a place with character, where the materials and details around you are as interesting as the flowers and foliage you’re working with.

We want you to feel part of that as soon as you arrive. To feel at home, take your time, explore the foliage, play with ideas and enjoy the simple pleasure of making something yourself.

There’ll be festive treats along the way, of course, but the heart of it is a few hours spent somewhere special, doing something creative, with a little space to yourself in the busy run-up to Christmas.

Our Christmas wreath workshops are now open for booking, and we’d love to welcome you to Home Close.

Autumn on flower field is a little slower paced and I’m loving the hedgerow berries and hips incorporated into our designs with glowing shades of dahlia, with my favoured scabious and amaranthus - deep rich beautiful - just like the sunsets that make my heart sing!

Photo 2 - thanks for featuring our beautiful rose garden in the cover NGS Oxfordshire !

Photo 3 - even the compost heap looks beautiful at the moment with its deadheaded roses! I don’t normally compost any rose waste-it does in the brown bin but this is the first deadheading after all the rain and it’s lovely healthy waste!

One of our favourite things is seeing your flowers out in the world.
Thank you @fionalegge for sharing this with us — and for such kind words about your bouquet. It’s never taken for granted.

The flower stall will be open again from Thursday through to Sunday this week, and it’s shaping up to be a really beautiful one.

If you’re popping by, you can expect highly scented lily of the valley (a fleeting favourite that will only be around for a week or so), the last of the tulips, along with alliums, aquilegia, ranunculus, campanula — and perhaps even the very first peonies.

As always, everything is seasonal and a little bit pot luck — but that’s part of the charm.

I’m running a small, relaxed workshop on Saturday 2nd May (2–4pm) where we’ll work with whatever the garden is giving us that week — tulips, ranunculus, anemone and other late spring bits, all with that soft, just-picked feel.
This is one of those times of the year I always look forward to — when the tulips are still just about holding on, the ranunculus are at their best, the early summer flowers are just starting to creep in and everything feels a little full and generous.

We’ll go through how I prepare and condition everything, pause for tea and homemade cake while I show you how I put a bouquet together, and then you’ll make your own to take home.

It’s a small group (as always), so there’s time to go at your own pace — and if a hand-tie isn’t comfortable for your hands, you can absolutely make something in a vase instead.

There are 5 places available
Ā£65 per person

If you’ve been thinking about coming along to something like this, this one will be a lovely, seasonal place to start.
Book your place and i'll see you there:

First wedding of the year and what an amazing day for this Bride and Groom - the most perfect weather and the most beautiful of spring flowers!
Many congratulations to you both!
Flowers consisted of tulips, ranunculus, narcissi, first stems of the lily of the valley, muscari and anemones.
Loved the additional pops of pinks for the bridesmaids bouquets and the sweetest little flowers girls posy.
