I had a lovely weekend at Foxton locks education centre demonstrating how I make the intricate patterns and designs on my walking sticks to all the visitors, cyclists and the occasional boater,so thankyou to Emily Davis and all the CRT team there for making us so welcome.
Whenever I go to an event or even just a “pop-up” to somewhere like the rollright stones or Stoke bruerne,I’m always scanning the sky’s and consulting the oracles (the met office weather app) to predict whether or not I need to take the gazebo so you can understand my dismay as I sat in the rain on Saturday contemplating the meaning of life and wishing I’d at least brought a coat, but the downpour didn’t last long and I dried out pretty quickly.
I was very impressed with the lovely lady (sorry,I didn’t get your name) trying to secretly buy a wand for her granddaughter with said granddaughter bouncing and skipping around like tigger.
Not expecting to do very much other than sit, whittle and chat to passers by I was pleasantly surprised to be asked for a workshop from the lovely Maxine who promptly produced, with a very capable hand a lovely wand that I’d have been more than willing to put up for sale with all mine but she clung to it close to her chest as she walked off with head held high.
With the summer slowly rolling to an end thoughts are now turning towards whittling workshops so please keep an eye open on the Stoke Bruerne CRT page or here on my fb page for details and hope to see you all soon.
My next event is quickly approaching as it’s next weekend at the Cannons Ashby Apple Harvest and I’m already scanning the horizon for clouds.
