We went last week to the home of Greg Penn for our third installation in his Georgian home in Devon. Remarkably it’s over 6 years since we first installed a set of wardrobes that’s then led to the kitchen there, and finally installing the butlers pantry and whilst there’s still some more work needed in there before we can share it properly, we’re delighted to show a little first glimpse at something we made for the space.
It’s the first time we’ve made a bell board and this one has some tricks up its sleave that will be revealed in time, but we’re delighted with the results and more importantly, so is Greg.
We couldn’t find anything quite right, when it came to the bells… they looked great, but also looked far too new and polished, so we painstakingly aged them in our workshop by hand, before creating custom plinths for each bell out of oak, and fastening them to the oak backboard.
We had brass plaques made with Gregs room list and finished the whole thing with coving so it sits flush to the wall and hopefully feels like it might have always been there.
We can’t wait to share more of this space, but hope you like this first look at his bespoke bells!
