Wool: a naturally beautiful choice for your floors. 🐑

If you’re looking for flooring that combines timeless style, lasting quality and thoughtful material choices, wool deserves a closer look.

One of wool’s greatest strengths is its versatility. The way it’s woven can transform both the look and feel of a carpet, giving you plenty of choice when it comes to texture and character.

✨ Loop pile creates a natural, textured finish, from a simple, understated weave to a more pronounced chunky bouclé look.

✨ Berber-style carpet often features a flecked appearance and a relaxed, organic character that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary homes.

✨ Twist pile offers a classic, softly textured finish, with a little more definition underfoot.

✨ Woven patterns, such as herringbone and other subtle geometric designs, add detail and interest without relying on bold colours or statement prints.

Beyond its appearance, wool is a renewable natural fibre. And there’s a strong British connection, too. The UK has a rich heritage of sheep farming, wool production and carpet manufacturing, with British wool producers supplying the wider textile industry. Choosing a carpet made with British wool can help support this heritage, particularly when you look for clear information about where the wool was grown and where the carpet was made.

For a home where quality, craftsmanship and considered choices matter, wool offers a lovely balance of classic elegance, practical durability and natural character.

At Branded Carpets, we can help you explore the textures, weaves and wool options available, so you can find a carpet that feels right for your home and will be enjoyed for years to come.

LVT flooring: more possibilities than you might think! ✨

If you're looking for a floor that combines practicality with beautiful design, high-quality luxury vinyl tile (LVT) is well worth considering.

It's hard-wearing, easy to clean and hygienic, making it a great choice for busy homes. It's also comfortable underfoot, generally warmer to the touch than ceramic tiles, and many LVT products are compatible with underfloor heating when installed according to the manufacturer's guidance.

But one of the biggest advantages of LVT is its versatility.

🌿 Natural wood effects – from classic oak tones to contemporary finishes, including elegant herringbone patterns.

🪨 Natural stone effects – recreate the look of stone, slate or marble with a practical, easy-care surface.

🎨 Colourful patterns and statement designs – add personality with decorative tiles, geometric patterns or bold colour combinations.

✨ Bespoke designs – combine wood and stone effects, introduce contrasting borders or mix different tile shapes and laying patterns to create a floor that's completely your own.

All these beautiful floors are by Karndean Designflooring UK.

Whether you prefer understated natural textures or something more eye-catching, LVT offers plenty of scope to create a floor that complements your home and the way you live.

At Branded Carpets, we'll help you explore the options and find the right flooring for your space. Although our Banbury showroom is no longer open, we're very much open for business and will bring samples to you, so you can see how different finishes work in your own home.

New carpet? Don't overlook what's underneath! 🏡

A beautiful carpet deserves a good quality underlay. It might not be the first thing you think about when choosing new flooring, but the right underlay can make a real difference to comfort, durability and how your carpet performs over time.

What makes a good quality underlay?

✔️ Comfort underfoot – adds cushioning for a softer, more comfortable feel.

✔️ Durability – retains its resilience and support rather than flattening too quickly.

✔️ Carpet protection – helps absorb the impact of everyday foot traffic, reducing wear on the carpet pile.

✔️ Insulation – helps retain warmth and can reduce noise between floors.

✔️ The right density and thickness – provides the correct support for your carpet and suits the room and its level of use.

So why replace your underlay when fitting a new carpet?

1️⃣ It's worn or compressed. Old underlay loses its cushioning and ability to support your new carpet.

2️⃣ It can shorten your carpet's lifespan. Inadequate support can contribute to premature wear.

3️⃣ It may have become damaged. Tears, uneven areas or crumbling foam can affect the finished result.

4️⃣ It could be affecting comfort and insulation. Worn underlay won't perform as well as a suitable, good quality replacement.

5️⃣ Old underlay can accumulate dust and allergens over time, and if it's been exposed to moisture, it may also harbour mould or bacteria.

Replacing worn underlay when fitting a new carpet gives you a fresh foundation, better support underfoot and the best start for your new flooring.

At Branded Carpets, we believe the details matter. We'll help you choose the right combination of carpet and underlay for your home, so everything works together beautifully.

With over 20 years of British craftsmanship in Banbury and the surrounding areas, we're here to help you get your flooring right from the ground up.

Our Banbury showroom may have closed, but we're very much open for business and will bring samples to you 📖

It’s the attention to detail that makes all the difference 💫

Choosing a beautiful carpet or floor is only part of the process. How it’s fitted and finished can make all the difference to the final result.

From selecting the right underlay and preparing the floor properly, to getting the tension just right, positioning joins carefully and creating neat finishes around skirting, doorways and thresholds - it's those details that separate good fitting from excellent fitting.

At Branded Carpets, we believe in doing things properly. It's British craftsmanship and attention to detail, built on more than 20 years of experience fitting flooring in Banbury and the surrounding areas.

And although our Banbury showroom is no longer open, we're very much still here and open for business. We bring the flooring to you, so you can see samples in your own home and choose what works best for your space.

Then we'll take care of the rest - from ordering through to expert fitting.

Beautiful flooring deserves a beautiful finish.

Before you commit to your flooring, see how it really works in your space.

Choosing a new floor is a big decision, so it's worth taking the time to see how your flooring works alongside your furniture, fabrics, paint colours and natural finishes.

And don't forget about light. A colour can look completely different in bright daylight, a shaded corner or under artificial lighting, so seeing a sample in your own home can make all the difference.

Why not create a simple mood board? Bring together flooring samples, paint colours, fabrics, furniture finishes and other materials to get a feel for how the colours and textures work together.

The good news is that our supplier partners are happy to provide samples for you to keep, so you can live with your choices before making a decision.

Browse our partner brands on the Branded Carpets website, choose a few options to try at home, and when you've found the one that's right for your space, we can take care of ordering and fitting it for you.

A fresh new look, from the stairs right through the upstairs. ✨

We recently completed this flooring project for a customer in Banbury, who wanted to replace the carpet on their stairs and throughout the entire upstairs.

The chosen carpet was Cavalier Carpets Cosmopolitan 600z Twist in Ammonite - a lovely warm, versatile shade that works beautifully throughout the space.

To guarantee a perfect result the existing underlay was replaced too, with new 9mm high-density recycled PU foam underlay for added comfort and support underfoot.

We love how this has come together - simple, timeless and beautifully cohesive from one room to the next.

A recent project for Katherine House Hospice, Adderbury

We were recently asked to help this amazing charity with a makeover for their overnight room for the duty doctor. The space is used by doctors who are on call at the Hospice, where they need to be able to relax and recharge their battery between call-outs. The new flooring had to be warm and inviting, comfortable underfoot, easy to clean, and affordable.

We chose a cosy, sumptuous carpet in a warm, neutral beige, paired with a lovely herringbone wood-effect vinyl for the bathroom area. A simple project for a very important local cause.

An on-site consultation is important - which is why we no longer have a traditional showroom.

Rather than trying to imagine how a carpet, natural fibre or LVT will look in your home under showroom lighting, you can see and compare samples in the actual space. We can consider your existing décor, furniture, lighting and the way you use each room, while helping you explore colours, textures, patterns and flooring styles that will work beautifully within your home.

With a carefully selected range of samples brought to you and expert advice tailored to your space, there's no need to make a decision based on a small sample in an unfamiliar environment.

Looking for new flooring in Banbury or the surrounding Oxfordshire area? Get in touch with Branded Carpets to arrange your personal flooring consultation. We'd be delighted to bring the showroom experience to you. ✨
