A fun primary colour paint sketch of my Rainy Tent page from last Summer's sketch book collection.

I've run out of time to fix the bits I want to fix but at least I can see them!

It always makes you question your camping sanity when it rains and everything, including you, is inside for the evening and there's towels/clothes "drying" from every height 😅

Fresh filter setup for our studio acrylic paint slop!
Using bentonite clay (fullers earth) to flocculate the paint (clump it) and filter it through a double coffee filter.

Look at that lovely clear water (it's a dirty bucket, granted). Filtered water can be used to paint with again, water plants, or go safely down the drain, having had the paint removed (acrylic is plastic based). Not tested for drinking! Let's say don't drink it.

Clay-paint cake is then lifted out to dry and sent to a friendly local ceramicist for experimentation, or it can go in the general waste. There's probably no great reason it couldn't be ground up with acrylic media to make art with again if desired - haven't tested that yet.

Sold today, a dear studio pal - whatever will I demo my landscape/palette knife classes with now?!
Must be a sign to paint more landscapes.

Week 1 of my Painting with Acrylics course is complete! Great work getting to know the paints, trying some methods for blending and exploring their application in a monochrome study.

If you have FOMO, and have used acrylics a little before, you'd be suitable to join us from week 2 onwards - next class is colour mixing and theory (skipping a week for holidays, back Thurs 21st 10am-noon)

I'd need to arrange your booking for you as the course has started, but just DM me and I'd be happy to do that.

Well done everyone!
