Today I took the day off from advent twisting as it's my birthday. I met up with family on the beach, walked my dog, ate chips and cake and came home and watched Dirty Dancing while hand balling 600m of our brushed merino and I'm about to cast on the by Lacey Williamson Lacey | Windwood Farm Knits A very good day shared with the people I love, tomorrow I'll be back in the dye shed twisting advent minis 🥰

Came across Chantelle Ellem via Christine Smith this morning and I am loving the October Alphabet prompts. So here is my A (and B will follow later today). A for ALPACA 🥰😍 This base is so beautiful, baby alpaca, merino, sequins and silk ❤️ I've tried very hard to capture the teeny tiny sequins, the whole skein literally twinkles as I turn it around but photos just don't show it that well.

My modest Yarndale haul 🥰 my toadstool from Wood, Stone, Feather & Bone a froggie from Jodi made by her daughter, needles from Sarah & Jonathan | The People Behind Purlescence because I'm too lazy to look for the same sizes I bought in April (yes, I put them somewhere safe!!) Some beautiful fabric from Cumbria Sewing and Crafts | Dressmaking and Craft Supply Store to make some project bags and lastly some Yarn Food - which we will be bringing to future shows 😀 You all know I'm fussy about soap/soaks and scents, well, I had my nose in all the test bowls this weekend and can say they were all very delightful and not artificial or over powering and I'm really looking forward to washing my socks ready for winter

Yarndale 2026 you were INCREDIBLE absolute non stop laughter, yarn squishing, hugs, friends, new friends, yarn, more yarn, fabric, toadstools (all will make sense in my haul post) and yet more yarn. My face hurts from smiling and laughing, my feet really really hurt and my back n hips have requested a week of bed rest but there's advent calendars that need packing so no rest just yet!!

Once again THANK YOU to Yarndale for having us, thank you to all the organisers, the volunteers, the parking attendants, the vendors, a big ty to Sabina for being a fab neighbour and I adore my toadstool 🍄 you are so, so talented and of course a huge thank you to all the visitors who came and squished yarn, I have loved seeing your creations from previous purchases and hearing all your plans for this weekends purchases 🥰
