March... When I Pause I Rise

The image I painted, When I Pause I Rise, resonated with me... so much. I wanted that to be me!

To be sitting there, on the edge of paradise... drinking it in, absorbing the healing power of the natural environment... allowing myself to feel the Pause.

The figure was left unpainted purposefully... I want anyone looking at the scene to be able to imagine that they could be the person sitting there.

The Pause is there for us all... we just have to believe in it! โค๏ธ

February... Look At The Sky

Image painted from a photograph I'd taken of my sister... it was such a beautiful dip. The sky was mesmeric, the sea calm and very chilly!

I love sharing these experiences with my big sis... โค๏ธ

January... Everything Is Rosy ๐ŸŒธ

I love this image... a limited palette of pink and black, yet it doesn't hold back on those wintery, feel-good vibes!

Whenever I paint an image, it is always my interpretation of the experience... the emotion being channelled. I don't ask the particular swimmer how they were feeling at that time. I simply take the image and let what flows, flow... and hope that I capture a little of what was being felt in that moment. ๐Ÿค”

For me... Everything Is Rosy is about reflection, self-care, space to breathe, and being thankful for life and this wonderful planet we call home. โค๏ธ

That's it... the Swim Wild Calendar 2027 has been sent to the printers, and it's good to go! ๐ŸŽ‰

I'm super excited to show you some of the changes and additions we've made ๐Ÿค—

When designing it this year, I had my heart set on curves. I don't know why! ๐Ÿ˜…

Somehow, we managed to interpret my words into a visual idea... and I loved it! I hope you do too ๐Ÿคž

Coming very soon... ๐Ÿ‘€

I love catching a sunrise... it's probably my favourite summer moment.

But, there's something truly poetic about a dark sky and reflections on still water that just floods me with emotion and slows everything down!

The Colour Story... Part 2

Forty years ago... Prussian blue was my colour.

To me, it brought tranquillity and calmness, with a deeper sense of spirituality.
I was 18 then... exploring Buddhism, spirituality, and reincarnation.

Prussian blue seemed to somehow fit where I was in my life, and I used it frequently in my creative work.

And then came 20+ years of nothingness...

Nothing creatively.

Until, freshly divorced, I started painting again.
Primarily with black.

Spiritually, black asks you to look at what you are hiding from yourself.

Very apt for that period of my life.

Looking back now, I find it fascinating how my colours seem to have followed me through the different chapters of my life.

Perhaps I wasn't choosing them at all.

Perhaps they were choosing me.

The Colour Story...

As an autistic artist, my colour palette has always been quite limited.

I've never chosen colours simply because they look good together. I'm not sure I should admit this, but... that has never really been important to me!

The colours I use have always been about exploring emotion... energy... identity... that certain something you can feel but can't quite name.

My colours remained the same for decades...
because I did.

But in the last few years, as I've embarked on a journey of self-exploration, something has changed.

My colours have changed, just as I have.

And I'm beginning to understand that perhaps colour has been telling my story all along.

This is where The Colour Story begins...

I never tire of seeing the reflections on the channel.

The calmness of the water, the clarity of the lights... it hits deep.

For a moment, I feel the peace.

Love where I live โค๏ธ
