We have had lots of enquiries about our upcoming workshops from people who are new to this form of art and asking what it is. With this in mind, here is a brief explanation of the amazing medium and what you can expect from one of our workshops. In essence it is a liquid fabric hardener. The first part of the workshop is where we create our piece. Whilst drying we have refreshments and also show you the dry-brushing technique. Finally we add colour to our sculpture ready for you to take home.

Both myself and Karl are certified Powertex tutors so you are in safe hands.

✨ What is a Powertex Fabric Sculpting Workshop?

Never used Powertex before? Don’t worry — you don’t need any previous experience or artistic skills.

Powertex is a creative fabric-sculpting medium that allows you to transform ordinary pieces of fabric into strong, textured, three-dimensional sculptures.

At our workshop, we’ll guide you through the whole process, step by step.

You will learn how to:

* 🧵 Soak and work with fabric using Powertex
* ✋ Shape, fold, twist and sculpt the fabric
* 🌿 Create texture and interesting details
* 🎨 Add colour and decorative elements
* ✨ Bring your creation to life with your own personal touches

The exciting part is that there is no right or wrong way to sculpt it. Your piece develops as you work, and we’ll help you along the way.

You’ll spend the session getting creative, experimenting with the fabric and discovering just how versatile Powertex can be — while we guide you through each stage.

💚 Is it difficult?

Not at all! Powertex can look complicated when you see the finished pieces, but the techniques are suitable for all abilities. We demonstrate everything before you try it and are there to help throughout the workshop.

Come along, get messy, have a laugh and see what you can create!

No experience necessary — just bring your imagination. ✨

We are very excited about a workshop we have coming up, which is local to us, at The Haven Inn, Barrow Haven.

This will take place on Saturday 19 September. A fun-filled workshop, where you’ll create your very own Autumn inspired table centrepiece.

You’ll be guided step by step as you design and sculpt your piece using Powertex fabric hardener. We will have 3 different pumpkins to decorate, as the focal point, one of which you will be shown how to make yourself. In addition to this, there will be autumnal embellishments to add to your pumpkins. These will all sit on a 22-25 cms log slice.

Once everything is sculpted and set, it’s time to add colour! 🎨

Choose your own palette and learn a dry-brushing technique to really bring your creation to life.

✨ No experience? No problem!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. All materials are provided—just bring yourself, your creativity, and a willingness to have fun.

Expect a friendly atmosphere, plenty of guidance, and a unique handmade piece to take home and proudly display this autumn.”

The workshop will start at 10.30 am and finish around 3pm. Cost of the workshop is £55, and includes a delicious ‘high tea’ as per the image attached, at no extra cost. Having had one of these high teas recently, we can honestly say they are delicious.

This workshop will be available to book very soon, just 10 places available.

Today we spent a lovely afternoon giving a workshop to the some of the ladies of Binbrooks WI.
Here are a few photos and the finished plaques. You all did an amazing job, and the final results were great. WELL DONE ALL!!! 👍
