A really special piece has just arrived at Hawkins Antiques - a fine quality Regency mahogany sofa table dating to circa 1840, and one of the best examples we've had in for some time.

Constructed in rich flame mahogany with beautiful figuring throughout, this table has all the hallmarks of the Regency period at its finest:
🔹 Crisp gadrooned moulding running consistently throughout
🔹 Twin spiral rope-twist columns
🔹 Four original brass lion's paw castors - all present and fully functional
🔹 Two working drawers with original brass ring pulls
🔹 Drop-leaf top extending from 94cm to 148cm wide

Week 9 of the Featured Collection is now live 🖤

Five exceptional pieces this week - from a hand-painted Edwardian satinwood plant stand at £750 right through to a magnificent French Vernis Martin commode with ormolu mounts and original marble top at £3,250.
But the one we're most excited about isn't even listed on the site yet.

Piece 05 is a satinwood bow-front display cabinet - hand-painted floral garlands, classical portrait panels, curved glazed doors and ormolu mounts throughout. This week's collection has a strong French and continental thread running through it - from a rich kingwood writing table with Bacchus mask ormolu mounts, to a two-door Vernis Martin vitrine with original marble top, to the showstopper of the week: a marquetry writing desk by Gervais-Maximilien Durand - one of the great Parisian cabinetmakers of the 19th century

Also in the collection this week - a pair of 19th century mahogany demi-lune tables in the manner of Gillows, and a beautifully proportioned antique walnut Queen Anne armchair at just £550.
