The Boots Sparklet soda siphon is a vintage kitchen item, typically a model from the 1960s or 1970s, manufactured by BOC Sparklets. These siphons are popular collector's items today and can be found on online marketplaces.
Key Details
Manufacturer: The siphons were made by BOC (British Oxygen Company), under the Sparklets brand name.
Era: While Sparklets produced siphons from the early 20th century, the "classic" models sold in retail stores like Boots were very popular in the 1960s and 1970s.
Design: They were made in various designs, including classic glass models (sometimes with wire mesh) and later opaque metallic or colored models (red, blue, gold, etc.).
Functionality: The siphons use an 8-gram, non-threaded CO2 cartridge to carbonate cold water. Users insert a cartridge into a small holder and screw it into the head to release the gas.
