Finishing this week on a massive high...one beautiful finished space....and it's all mine!

After 4 years of 'talking about it', I finally got my finger out and designed these 2 pieces of bespoke joinery to complete our hallway.

Realising that we needed much MORE storage (but it had to be beautiful) I had really deliberated for way too long!

Thankfully I know an absolute wizard of a cabinet maker and once I had finally made up my mind the brilliant BMK Bespoke sprang into action!

I have known Ben for the last 7 or 8 years and we've shared some brilliant projects together so I had no doubt he would deliver exactly what I wanted and more.

And here they are, a lovely 'book nook' shelving unit with integrated lighting and gorgeous white oiled oak shelving. And if 1 unit wasn't enough, Ben also built this super tall and slim cupboard for all our outdoor clothing paraphernalia!

The joinery has been colour matched to our walls and it really is a pleasure to walk through the front door again. We could not be happier.

Neither Ben or I are a fan of a 'hack' We are joinery snobs and for good reason! A fitted piece of furniture will deliver 100% every time. There is no compromise on the quality of materials or joinery skill and nothing is ever the wrong size. Pieces of furniture that fit your home like a glove are worth it I promise!

An incredible result for this family home renovation that began 18 months ago. I could not be happier with this finished room!

LPID produced a full concept design for this family home that was to be newly extended, involving a kitchen renovation and a new concept for the additional family space.

The beautiful gable-end extension really needed something special. Fittings and furniture were designed by LPID to fit the space perfectly and create a functional use of a hard working space - whilst looking stunning!

Enter Tom Usher from Flush Finishes who took the detail drawings and turned it into this spectacular reality. This was a very large piece of joinery with the media wall joining up to a built-in dining seating area. Tom reproduced every detail to perfection and we are all so pleased with the finish.

Bespoke joinery is such an elevator. It can solve all manner of problems from solving space issues to hiding unwanted eyesores - like a an underfloor heating manifold!

Well here is a delightful turnaround in this otherwise glum start to 2026!

I have never won 2 awards in one go, I am so pleased and grateful.

'Design' awards honour professionals whose work was the most popular among the Houzz community.

'Customer Service' honours are based on several factors, including LPID's overall rating on Houzz and client reviews submitted in 2025.

2026 marks the 12th consecutive year of LPID winning Best of Houzz for Service! Whoop whoop!

For all my brilliant customers who reviewed me and allowed me to share their projects in my growing portfolio of fabulous finished schemes I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Sneaky peek at the fantastic joinery being installed by lovely Tom . Tom has worked so hard to faithfully reproduce my design for this large media wall and built-in bench seat! Such a high standard of finish and a happy customer so all credit to Tom for his hard work!

January has been challenging and like Pollyanna 'if you dont have anything nice to say, just say nothing at all' has been my motto.

So i'm sorry for the radio silence, life is messy, stuff gets complicated, sometimes work takes a back step.

Today I spent time accompanying my beautiful friend on a trip to Genesis Care in Southampton. She is powering through radiotherapy and im proud of you

Whilst I waited I read the gorgeous book 'The boy, the horse, the fox and the mole' by Charlie Makesy. This page made me take a sharp breath....

I would like to be less afraid. I'm a massive scaredy pants right now, life is scaring me, life with my teenagers, my volunteering journey, my business, 'the pause'....all of it is a lot.

But imagine how i would be if i was less afraid....

Here we go again!!! Happy 1st December!

This is a relatively new tradition in the Porter house, started last year by my youngest, Christmas loving, son.

Our day by day plan has been carefully plotted by him to include all our favourite things in just the right order! Lets face it, there's a lot to get through and he doesnt want to miss a thing!!!

Make your December count, do what you enjoy most with all the people you love!

Imagine Saturday's in this house, you'd never need to leave. In a stunning spot on the River Test this beautiful barn conversion is a brand new favourite in LPID's recently completed projects list!

I designed a key materials and interior details strategy to ensure this project hit just the right note for my clients. Paying a lovely homage to the buildings internal structure without becoming a pastiche of itself! The incredible garden views are a thing to behold so it was important to bring in textures and materials that reflected and complimented the trees and shrubbery.

With details that echo the black ironmongery and glorious oak trusses the result is a cosy balance of contemporary and traditional.

Totally in love with the brand new mezzanine landing and the vistas it gives you of the heart of the interior.
