Cote de boeuf (or bone-in ribeye) dry brined with salt, pepper, garlic & rosemary for 6 hours, slow roasted for 4 hours and then reverse seared in tallow.

This platter shown with tallow roasted potatoes and green beans with bone-broth gravy. This thick ribeye has a peppery crust that gives way to some of the most tender meat I've had in years. Topped with a bit of gravy and sides... it is heaven!!!!

I was on the hunt for dinner last night, and while in the meat section of the local grocery store I found this intruder, pork chops preprepared with "smokey BBQ sauce".

It has 4 different sugars to help you pack on the pounds, increase your chance of fatty liver, and add to inflammation in the body. Often, they are in disguise.

On the ingredient list, sugar is listed first, then there is, maltodextrin - very much a sugar, listed fourth is starch which is a "polysaccharide" but the most you eat it your tummy turns it into sugar (same with any potato). And finally barley malt extract. Doesn't sound like a sugar, but it is. Any of my friends who brew know that you add barley malt extract to your mash-ton to increase the sugar content in order to create a stronger beer.

So 4 sneaky ways of getting sugar into your system. You gotta be careful out there folks.
