I do love a good before and after… particularly when it involves an old chair and some lovely fabric! 🌸
I have a bit of a weakness for chairs at auction. Often the upholstery has seen better days, but the shape is lovely and I can already imagine what we might do with it.
A few recent transformations, starting with our latest - a rather tired green velvet slipper chair, now looking very different in a fabulous floral by Charlotte Peters Designs complete with a generous gathered skirt.
Another green velvet chair has been given a new look in Fermoie fabric, while a faded pink slipper chair now has soft blush upholstery, a gingham skirt and a fringed cushion.
The last chair is rather special. It belonged to my late mother-in-law and we’ve found a place for it in the guest bedroom of our Little Venice renovation. Recovered in a pretty SCHUMACHER UK | since 1889 fabric, it now sits against blue Fermoie wallpaper. I’m so pleased we were able to give it a new home.
I think one of the nicest things about reupholstery is being able to keep these lovely old shapes, while making them feel completely at home in a new setting.
Swipe through for the before and afters - I’d love to know which is your favourite. 🌸
