General Information:
We specialise in reviving unloved, pre-owned vintage pieces that have plenty of life left in them but no longer make the grade in terms of modern decor. Our collections are very varied and range fr

om classically hand painted to shabby chic with or without a distressed feel. We create a variety of painted finishes from satin to flat matt and from waxed or crackle glazed to distressed and aged, decoupage, stencils and individual designs. All of the products used here have low VOC, these include Chalk paints, waxes and water based varnishes. Before buying from us, please understand that many of our collections are pre-owned and may have the odd bump, crack or other imperfections. We feel these add to the charm and character of each piece but we can assure you the the item will be of sound quality. Commissioning:
We offer a commissioning service whereby We can paint furniture you already have but feel it needs a new look, maybe to fit in with your new decor. We can transform it and bring it back to life in whichever colour and style you choose, giving you a bespoke item that is not only unique to you but affordable at the cost of purchasing a new one. We are able to come to you and work within your space if you have an extra large item you would like transforming. This can include updating your kitchen cupboards or bathroom vanity units. Simply contact us with your request and photographs for a quote. A non refundable 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, this is to secure your booking and allow for materials to be purchased before any work can begin.

We’re delighted to introduce and warmly welcome to another local Bedford artist Robyn Caley, an illustrator who has recently joined us here at Absolutely Shabbylass.

Robyn is a self-taught artist who grew up in and around Bedford and has lived in the town centre for many years. She specialises in beautifully detailed illustrations of buildings, created using watercolour and ink, alongside a vibrant collection of botanical prints inspired by nature.

Have you found your favourite local landmark yet? Robyn captures pubs, sports grounds and iconic Bedford locations in her illustrations — thoughtful and unique gifts that are always a hit.
