Project Lidlington is Live

First fix-Done!

Next up Deb is on site to plaster, prep and colour drench in the most amazing shade that we can’t wait to share. Then she is going to place panelling as per our design before we can move on to second fix.

Today I have been photo wall planning, the goal is to frame the clients photos in wallpapered mounts that work with the design theme. We have made provisions for a picture light to sit above the space.

We have taken delivery of some fabulous cushions and throws and a bespoke storage bench is in production.

it’s all down to Deb this week before we join back in dressing out the space. Hoping to deliver the sideboards to site this week to get those painted up…we will share progress later this week.

It’s all in the detail ✨

A little look at one of our recently completed bedroom designs, where every element was carefully considered to create a calm, elegant and beautifully finished space, we’re now ready for the clients bed to go in to complete the space.

We made and installed Hand sewn curtains to frame the windows, choosing to dress the blank wall space in-between each window for a furnished hotel feel.

We paired the curtains with our discreet privacy blinds to gently filter the daylight. Above, a bespoke cornice pelmet conceals the curtain track completely, giving the window treatment that seamless, architectural finish we love.

The bespoke wall panelling was designed by Emily alongside the lighting scheme, allowing us to carefully position both the decorative wall lights and practical bedside reading lights within the mouldings.

It’s these details — the proportions, placement, finishes and how everything works together — that can completely transform a room.

From concept to completion 🤎

We loved designing this Cloakroom and seeing one of the key details come to life exactly as we’d imagined.

The starting point was the beautiful large-format slab from Porcelanosa, which we used to create a dramatic feature behind the WC. Framing it with dark timber slatted panelling and concealed lighting completely transforms the slab, highlighting the warm veining and giving the whole space that soft, luxurious glow.

The wall-hung TOTO WC is another level!

WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED BLIND & CURTAIN FITTER

As Hot House continues to grow, we’re looking to expand our fitting team and would love to hear from an experienced self-employed blind and curtain installer to work with us on a flexible, ongoing basis.

Our installations are often at the more specialist end of the market, including bespoke curtains and Roman blinds, large curtain tracks, ceiling-fixed systems, motorised blinds and tracks.

We’re looking for someone who is highly experienced, practical and an excellent problem solver, with meticulous attention to detail and a professional, friendly manner with our clients.

Experience with Somfy motorisation and premium curtain track systems would be a real advantage, as would a carpentry or joinery background.

This is initially a flexible, self-employed opportunity for 2 days work a week with the potential to develop into regular ongoing work.

A branded company fitting van and professional tools can be provided on a van share basis if required.

Based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, with projects across the surrounding areas.

If this sounds like you — or if you know someone excellent who you’d recommend — please send us a private message.

We’d love to hear from you.

A statement in alabaster ✨

Lighting has the ability to completely transform a space, and this beautiful recent installation is one of our finest examples.

At the centre of the scheme, the spectacular 21-light alabaster chandelier creates a real focal point through the stairwell, complemented by coordinating alabaster wall lights to carry the soft, warm glow throughout the space, which look stunning off and on.

We love working with natural alabaster, every piece has its own unique veining and character, and when illuminated it creates the most beautiful diffused light.

For us, decorative lighting is never an afterthought. The scale, position and relationship between each fitting are carefully considered as part of the overall interior, creating a scheme that feels cohesive, elegant and beautifully balanced.

Some lights deserve a post all of their own… ✨

This is one of many incredible statement lights we’ve had the pleasure of supplying this summer with more to share over the coming weeks.

At this scale, lighting isn’t something we simply select from an image and hope it works. Every piece is carefully considered as part of the overall room design. We draw the space to scale, incorporating the proposed lighting, so our clients can really visualise the proportions and impact before making their final choice.

And this one certainly required some planning!

At an incredible 1.5 metres long and weighing over 100kg, provisions had to be made within the ceiling to be sure this was ok to install.

Huge thanks to for transporting this for us.

Layer upon layer of beautiful smoked glass creates this dramatic cascading form — breathtaking when unlit, but once illuminated it completely transforms the space.

We also selected the coordinating sculptural glass wall lights, bringing another layer of warmth and detail to the room without competing with the main event.

Statement lighting at its very best. ✨

When curtains become part of the artwork…

We absolutely loved seeing this installation come together.

These beautiful bespoke curtains were created using fabric from the Kyra Cane x Villa Nova collection, inspired by the expressive landscape paintings and ceramics of British ceramicist and artist Kyra Cane.

The painterly design works beautifully across this incredible expanse of glazing — soft and understated through the upper section, with layers of earthy greens, chalky blues and warm terracotta bringing colour and movement through the lower half.

Suspended from our favourite discreet tracks, with wave heading on the curtains keeping the finish contemporary and architectural.

When closed, the curtains create an almost panoramic piece of art.
