This was me 13 years ago.

21, in Brazil, studying civil engineering and working on a construction site, making concrete testing samples.

At the time, it felt like I had it all figured out. A clear path. Something solid to build on (it doesn’t get more solid than cement 😂).

But, oh boy, life had other plans.

Today, I’m 34. I live in Belfast. I’m married, I have a child and I run a marketing agency.

A version of life I couldn’t have imagined back then. Not in my most wild dreams.

Last week, I spoke at the Women Returners event about change, pivots and starting again.

And as I was sharing that, I realised how much of it comes from lived experience.

Because if you know me, you know that my path has been anything but straight.

There have been shifts, turns and moments where I had to trust something I couldn’t fully see yet.

But looking back, those unexpected turns shaped everything.

If there’s one thing I believe now, it’s this:

Life doesn’t need to follow a straight line to lead you somewhere meaningful.

And it makes me wonder where I’ll be 13 years from now? Shout out to my Ray Ban Aviators, still have them to this day. Still my favourite pair of sunnies. 😎
