From hidden treasures tucked away in country houses to remarkable pieces waiting to be rediscovered, there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes here at Larkin’s.

Some wonderful new arrivals are already finding their place in the showroom, with many more waiting to be uncovered. The search never really stops, and over the coming weeks we’ll be travelling the length and breadth of the country in pursuit of quality craftsmanship, timeless character, and beautiful antiques with stories still to tell.

We absolutely adore this superb early oak settle, brimming with honest wear and a rich, deep colour built up over generations of use. Dating to around 1730 and later, solid, characterful, and full of presence. The kind of piece that doesn’t just sit in a space… it defines it.

Shown here with a strong line-up of new arrivals which include a Georgian tilt-top table, Victorian walnut library armchair, and a Scottish chest of drawers—each one bringing its own story and presence. ❤️

Very impressive late Georgian provincial oak dresser / bookcase, dating from around 1770–1800.

Crafted with beautifully moulded shelving, a hand-cut dentil cornice and a deep, rich oak colour developed over more than two centuries, this is a piece built with architectural presence rather than simple utility. A true statement piece for a country house kitchen, library or grand hallway — full of history, character and timeless charm.

Alongside it, a Charles II period oak coffer dating from around 1680–1700, presented in great condition with original ironwork and its interior till (candle box) still intact — a wonderful survivor of early English craftsmanship.

And for lovers of detail, we couldn’t resist this beautifully bobbin-turned Victorian ebonised beech chair, dating from around 1890 — a small piece with a big personality. ❤️

Just arrived — a superb early English oak coffer dating to around 1680.
Richly carved with flowing foliate panels and a beautifully detailed arcaded frieze, this is a piece full of presence.
We just love the deep colour and honest wear, reflecting over 300 years of history and use.
