🐴 PART-TIME YARD STAFF WANTED 🐴
We are still on the lookout for a part-time member of staff to join our team at our busy part & full livery yard.
21 box, busy livery yard (currently full)
Hours to be discussed, but generally afternoons on summer routine and mornings on winter routine:
☀️ Summer hours (mid-April – end of October)
• Morning: approximately 8am–10.30/11am
• Afternoon: approximately 2pm–5pm
❄️ Winter hours from 26th october
• Morning: approximately 8am–12.30pm
• Afternoon: approximately 3pm–5pm
Please note these are approximate start and finish times. There may occasionally be earlier starts, additional hours required on certain days, and opportunities for extra hours covering holidays or staff illness.
🐎 Weekend & sole-charge work
The role will include every third weekend, working sole charge. These hours will be longer approximately 7.5 hour days. Summer hours ☀️ 8am -12.30 2pm- 5.30pm
Winter hours 8am -1pm 3pm-5.30pm
You therefore need to be confident working independently, be able to use your initiative and make appropriate decisions regarding the horses and the yard when required.
Previous experience working sole charge would be highly desirable.
There will be some bank holiday work, and Christmas work is shared fairly between the team.
🐎 The job itself
You will need to be able to undertake all general yard duties to a high standard, including:
• Mucking out
• Poo picking
• Picking out feet
• Grooming
• Changing rugs
• Checking horses throughout the day
• Making feeds
• General yard maintenance and keeping the yard clean and tidy
As we are a part & full livery yard, attention to detail and high standards of horse care are extremely important.
You will need to be confident and competent handling horses of all different shapes, sizes and personalities.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, conscientious and genuinely cares about providing a high standard of care for the horses. Experience working on a livery yard is preferred. Driving licence is a must due to location.
