Passion for Glass: The Story Behind Hugtak Arts and Glass
Lifelong collector Jan Cutting, alongside business partner Martin Fisher, turned a shared love of art glass and vintage jewellery into a thriving venture with Hugtak Arts and Glass. Based in Hastings and Bexhill—and with a growing online presence—Hugtak specialises in beautifully curated mid-century modern and contemporary vases, striking paperweights, and a dazzling array of antique and vintage brooches.
Driven by personal passion rather than trends, Jan and Martin are committed to offering pieces that are not only collectible but full of character. “Some of these works can only be truly appreciated in bright light,” says Jan. “When people see them in person, they’re instantly drawn in. And really—where else can you go these days to experience artist-made glass up close?”
In addition to fairs and markets across the South East, Hugtak also operates out of Sivyers Auction Rooms in Bexhill, bringing exceptional glass and jewellery to collectors and curious newcomers alike.
