Blinds or shutters… which would you choose? 👇

On the left, faux wood Venetian blinds in a bathroom. On the right, uPVC shutters in a bathroom. Both made to measure, both fitted properly, and honestly both look the part.

The shutters give you that full louvre control and a really clean, premium finish. The Venetian blinds give you a very similar look at a more accessible price point, and in a bathroom they work an absolute treat.

Neither is wrong. It really just comes down to what you want and what suits your home.

This is exactly what we’re about at Shuttered Dreams. Spencer’s here at a recent full house installation showing just how versatile a well fitted set of shutters can be, three separate openings on this bay window alone, meaning the homeowner can control exactly where the light comes in throughout the day. Morning light from the left, shade in the middle, open on the right. However they want it.

That’s not something curtains or standard blinds can give you.

This is one of the things people don’t always think about, shutters on either side of a door that fold neatly out of the way when you want full access to the garden. Privacy and light control when you need it, completely clear when you don’t.

Best of both worlds really. 😊

We’re called Shuttered Dreams, but we’re not just shutters. These are perfect fit blinds on bi-fold doors, and they work an absolute treat. 🤍

Clip straight into the frame, no brackets on show, no gaps at the sides. Pull them down when you want privacy, leave them up when you want the garden. Simple, clean, and they sit flush with the door so nothing gets in the way when you open them up.

A lot of people don’t realise we do these, but if you’ve got bi-folds, patio doors or any large glazed opening and you’re not sure what to do with them, this is well worth considering.
