On Saturday 14th September at 6.45am I gave birth to our gorgeous little girl who's called Elsie-Mae. She weighed 8ib 2.5ozs and is absolutely gorgeous and is a dream.
This pregnancy wasn't the easiest to begin with as I had Gestational Diabetes again, which was diagnosed from 17 weeks. A lot earlier on this time to Adam's.
I was also put on insulin this time round and had to inject myself every night from the start of May and I ended up on 54mls of it too.
Our induction didn't quite go to plan either. We where booked in for one on Wednesday 11th September. I had to have the baloon method due to having a previous csection. Because Elsie had been head down and then oblique a few times we had to have a scan on Wednesday to make sure she was still head down. Thankfully she was.
Then by the afternoon when we where ready to do the baloon she had turned back Oblique. We had to wait round till the next day which was Thursday, to possibly have her turned, my waters broken in theatre and if things didn't go to plan I'd have a section.
Thankfully the next morning she had turned head down again and we had the baloon fitted Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately when the baloon was removed on Friday we found out that it didn't do what it was meant to do as it was meant to get me to 4cms and it didn't and was potentially meant to break my waters and it didn't do that either.
Friday the 13th evening came and we went down to labour ward to have my waters broken. My waters being broken was so so painful and they nearly didn't break them because my cervix was posterior still and it was really hard and awkward to do.
I thought having Adams waters broken was painful, this was worse.
They where finally broken though and I was put on the hormone drip after 2 hours along with the sliding scale for insulin and glucose and a drip of antibiotics for Group b.
I was examined at 5am in the morning and I was only 2cms dilated. So it was 4 hours of labour and I had only dilated that much.
I was meant to be examined at 7am. But Elsie's heart rate kept dipping. They turned the drip down to give her break, but contractions where still strong as ever. It was suggested we have a csection.
