✨Let’s talk markets…honestly✨
Craft markets/events are like the lottery. Sometimes you win, sometimes not.
Yesterdays event was unfortunately a not 😞
The truth is you never know how it’s going to be until the day.
You set up with excitement to show off your creations that you’ve worked so hard in making. You try and make your table look amazing, interesting and enticing and you always sit there with a smile ready to greet every single person.
And sometimes the day goes by in a flash. Loads of lovely people to greet, chatting all about your items and the joy it gives you in making them and selling those items knowing they are going to a fabulous forever home ✨
And then there the days that drag, not many people turn up, you smile hopefully at them as they walk past without even looking in your direction. Or trying to interact with someone that just wants to critique…”oh that would take some dusting” “well, that’s unusual” while manhandling it 😡
And on those days, you can’t help but feel a bit deflated, a bit “what’s the point”
So you have a little mope, feel sorry for yourself for a day or so then crack on with making things that make you happy and getting excited for the next event!
So, yea, it’s very much like a lottery.
Yesterday wasn’t a great day. And yes, I’m moping about today, feeling sorry for myself. But, I’ll get back up and try again.
But just a little advice if you ever do pop down to a craft event…smile and chat to the makers. It really does make their day. Look and touch their creations but be respectful…it’s probably taken a lot of time and effort to make it. Plus they will love that piece with all their hearts ✨✨✨
Right, enough moaning. Im off to craft club to spend time with like minded lovely people, that fill my heart with joy.
