I recently started working on the maintenance team for Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust. I'm really enjoying it and making some great friends and learning lots of new things. My background is carpentry but this role requires me to know the basics of maintenance across the board.

Yesterday I was tasked to paint a wall where I removed a fire extinguisher and sign. The challenge was I had the wrong shade of paint (too light) so I called my workmate and he suggested adding some black. Being in the art psychotherapy room they had red, blue, green, yellow, black and white. So of course I did my best to match the existing wall and had great fun!

Here's some pictures from one of my latest jobs.

The task was to install the end panels and counter top to some bathroom units and install 3 x internal doors.

I learnt alot from this project as the house was over 100 years old and the frames were the most wonky and twisted I've ever come across.

The customer was very appreciative and I'm happy with the results.

I had the pleasure of installing some architrave and skirting boards for a lovely family here in Birmingham.

The customer painted themselves and I also managed to get some photos afterwards for full effect.

Really grateful to work on this project. Especially as I was looked after well with plenty of tea! 🤣
