I guess we just found out our next project 😁😍:
Family coat of arms 🤩
N: Mum, what’s the symbol of the school where you work?
(we look it up on the internet)
B: It’s a crown in a circular shape. The school is called Kingshurst. And what about your school…?
N: It’s kind of like a shield shape, with a big letter P in it, and a red bird feather!
B: Oh yes, that’s right! By the way, did you know that this isn’t actually called a symbol, but a coat of arms? You know, like in the old days when kings had them too. They painted them onto their big flags when they went into battle, so everyone could see from far away who was coming. For a coat of arms, they really did use symbols though—for example, Kingshurst school chose a crown as its symbol and put that onto their coat of arms.
…I remember when I was at school, once we had to make a family coat of arms…
N: I know what I would maaaake! A big love-heart ❤️ shape, and inside it lots of smaller love hearts and kisses, and—
(He shows it with his arms)
two arms in this hugging position… and we’d be the three of us inside it, and the two big arms would have lots and lots of wheels! That’s the symbol of how wherever we go, we hug!
…And my family coat of arms would be purple!
B: Really? How come?
N: Well, because the colours they say are “girly” are really beautiful. And the ones they say are “boy colours” are really beautiful too, but for example brown isn’t that pretty, they don’t really call it anything. They say purple is girly, so I choose that for our coat of arms!
