Not off the shelf. Not like anyone else’s. Truely one of a kind.

This kitchen was designed completely around our clients, how they cook, how they live, and how they use their kitchen every day. Sustainability and clever storage built in from the start.

Projects like this are always a pleasure to design and bring together.

Now the only question is… what’s the first thing being made? Dinner or cocktails? 🍸

Sometimes in life you have to look back to see how far you’ve come.
This week I presented my business at .collective and shared the services I offer to help my clients, and why my interior design studio has a distinctive edge.

What made it even more meaningful was that my presentation happened to fall on a very personal and historic day for me, marking a decade since a moment that changed my perspective on life.

I shared something deeply personal. For me it was a reflective moment and a pivotal point in my career, a celebration of life and the journey that has brought me here. Looking back now, I wouldn’t change anything.

This year, Rejig Interiors celebrates six years in business, and it’s growing rapidly.2026 is the year of expansion, and I’m incredibly excited about what’s in the pipeline.
A huge thank you to all of my clients, past and present.

We are now on the home straight with this mid-century kitchen and it should be completed by the end of next week, with the exception of the made to measure blinds.

Watching this worktop being installed today was incredibly satisfying. I did have to step out and return later because of the noise and fumes, but walking back into my client’s kitchen once it was installed, I knew they would be just as delighted as I was.

This worktop completely dictated the final splashback tile choice, which you will see picks up the green marble chips perfectly.

The terrazzo slab brings together all of the colour choices beautifully and adds a playful edge to this mid-century design.

And as you can see, the Rejig Interiors signature upstand creates a clean transition to the tiled splashback, neatly limiting the need for visible mastic 🫣🥴.

Happy New Year! I honestly cannot believe we are in 2026 already. I referenced 2016 in a conversation the other day, a hugely significant year for me and it really made me stop and reflect on just how far I’ve come. (More on that another time… it’s definitely an inspirational one.)

It’s been an incredibly busy start to 2026 our busiest yet which I’m taking as a very positive sign of what’s ahead.

I’m also feeling a little emotional as this mid-century kitchen project is almost coming to an end. It’s been such an exciting few months watching this kitchen unfold, and every single stakeholder involved has been absolutely superb. I’m genuinely so grateful for the care, talent, and collaboration that’s gone into it.

This week the worktop is being fitted, and I cannot wait to show you this beauty. Until then, here’s a sneaky peek of where we are at right now…

Time for a mid century kitchen update in Bishop’s Stortford Hertfordshire!

It’s been a busy week but everything is coming together smoothly and exactly as intended.

The doors and drawer fronts are now installed along with the dainty lip pull handles. Huge credit to the fitter who has done an exceptionally considered job with every drawer and door front fitted to perfection.

The cabinetry features 22mm solid five piece shaker doors crafted from oak with the grain intentionally rotated horizontally to emphasise the width of the kitchen. The natural knots sit beautifully within the mid century aesthetic while the warm maple stain creates the foundation of the palette.

Inside the units the quality continues behind the doors with deep garnet red cabinets paired with Blum onyx black hardware.

Not shown here but the bespoke radiator is now in and perfectly matches the egger garnet red cabinet interior adding a playful detail to the space.

Reducing the plinth height and increasing the cabinet sizes has made the units feel noticeably taller and more elegant.

Lighting is in! The ceiling has already had its second coat and socket roughs are in.

Next up worktop templating and this one is truly crème de la crème 👌

Project update!

Running a little behind on these project updates but we are still running on schedule. Let me start by summarising week 3. At the end of week 3, the cork flooring was installed which is an excellent sustainable flooring choice, naturally insulating and perfectly aligned with our client’s preferences.

Last week (wk4), the mini bar, hatch reveal and pantry tiling were completed and grouted and look super. The grout was a little of a nightmare to apply by all accounts! (very pigmented). The skirting & architraves have also been installed ready for painting!

This week, the decorators began and they will return in the new year to apply the final coat, as this colourful grout is notorious for leaving the odd stain or two!

Unfortunately, the original paint specified appeared to have been tinted incorrectly, causing the yellow to read more fluorescent than mustard. We instead selected Little Greene Light Gold, which brings a dynamic, wandering quality to the walls and ceiling. It has a lovely warm yellow-gold undertone which subtly emerges giving the space a deceptive sense of added size and a delightful presence that changes throughout the day.

The sink brand was switched last minute due to a factory delay on the original order. But the sink is in (not installed, just resting!)

The bespoke radiator & shelves have arrived and are on site ready to be installed next week.

By the end of next week the electrics, plumbing, doors and shelving will all be completed ready for templating.

Curating the perfect scheme begins with the inspiration images shared by our clients. From there, the concept is edited, refined, and shaped into a cohesive design direction. The research phase typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the project’s scope, a considered process of refinement and elimination that ultimately results in a beautifully resolved interior.

For the mid-century kitchen we’re currently implementing, we’ve specified a deep red carcass paired with a solid oak five-piece shaker door, with the grain intentionally set horizontally to visually stretch and elongate the space. The hinges are finished in onyx black because why settle for chrome?

The walls and ceiling will be colour-drenched in mustard yellow, creating a room that uplifts, invigorates, and fully embraces the wonderful south-facing light.

The bespoke bar is really coming together, how gorgeous is this already? 😍
It’s not finished yet, but once the mustard grout is in, the gold wine glass holders are installed, and the bottles are in place, this is going to be a seriously cracking bar area.

This multifunctional space will hold wine glasses, spirits, tumblers, and stacked glassware. There’s even dedicated room for an ice bucket and a wine cooler!

Week 3, Day 2 Update! The kitchen has been installed into its final position. We had a slight blip yesterday when reviewing the corner panels they were the wrong size 🥴 720 rather than 770! The production team had unfortunately misinterpreted the dimension. An easy mistake to make I guess as I don’t do mass industry standard, I like to optimise every spare cm of space for our clients and give our clients a one of a kind kitchen. Anyhow the corner panels were reconstructed using two of the end panels and the replacement end panels are now in production ready to be replaced in a few weeks with the glorious oak stained doors. No impact to the schedule thankfully.

The project as a whole is running smoothly and to schedule thanks to the awesome trades that have executed the project with fine detail and my amazing technical elevations. (If you want to know how to do these buy our SketchUp Course link in Bio!)

Electrian back on Friday to fit a new fuse board with additional ways and to update a number of electrical cables to get everything in this new kitchen up to regs.

Kitchen update for a Sunday afternoon! The base units have been professionally delivered, legged up, and positioned smoothly, ready for installation on Monday. The legs are currently set to zero, with plenty of room for adjustment. I’ve maximised the storage potential in this kitchen by specifying deeper drawers, Le Mans pull-outs for the corners, and integrated bins. The oven housings have been custom-made for the models I specified, which has allowed me to optimise the space beneath for even more functional storage.

I selected the Egger Garnet Red carcass for this mid-century kitchen because it’s elegant, on-trend for the era, and perfectly aligned with the home’s aesthetic. Even better, is an innovative, future-focused and sustainable manufacturer, using recycled wood materials to create the products of tomorrow.

This isn’t an off-the-shelf solution, it’s a bespoke design, crafted entirely around the client’s needs and aspirations. 🥰
