Spring has sprung at thebeckfordcollective. It’s a beautiful day here, the birds are singing and spring and Easter are appearing in our little shop. I’ve just completed a lovely order of memory bears and other animals for a local family. It was my honour to make something so special so they have some lasting and physical to remember their relative by.

If you are interested in a memory bear or animal made from clothing special to you and your family, please drop me a message. Clothing can range from baby’s first clothes to shirts of lost loved ones, school uniform to work uniforms. Names, dates and birth weights can be embroidered on and I can weight them to the birth weight of your child.

Stocking in a new shop!!!!

I am now stocking in The Kiwi Fruit is Cute in the old Cavendish House. There you will find a range of pyrography from assorted activity and pamper dice to memory boxes, tooth fairy boxes to Santa Platters. You will also find examples of my memory bears and other animals. Drop in, say hi to the lovely ladies that run the shop and do a bit of Christmas shopping supporting local small businesses.

It’s another beautiful day out there today. If you fancy a cooling drink or ice cream, beautiful gardens and a lovely cool artisan shop to browse and buy unique personal gifts, then pop down to thebeckfordcollective located in the courtyard of The Old Post Office Shop Beckford. We have over 20 local artists and crafters all offering some unique and not found in many other places. thebeckfordcollective is a non for profit organisation so any profit made is donated at the end of the financial year. Last year we donated to valewildlifehospital, suerydercharity and Gloucestershire r**e and sexual abuse charity.

It’s that time of the year again - the Bishops Cleeve Street Fair is back. Apologies I’ve been quiet but I’ve been pretty unwell. I’m back now and have been so excited to send one memory bear and three memory elephants to their forever homes. One elephant is also weighted to the birth weight of the baby. Now I’m drawing out the pattern pieces on interfacing ready to strengthen the next pieces of materials.

As I reminder I offer two styles of bears and elephants as well as a rabbit, cat, dog, horse/unicorn and butterfly. I’m always happy to find other animal patterns if there is one close to your hearts.
