A timeless parquet look, with a touch of luxury

This ground floor has been transformed with Amtico Spacia Black Walnut, large parquet planks laid in a herringbone pattern and finished with a coordinating border and polished gold feature strip.

The rich walnut tones, classic parquetry detail and warm metallic accent work beautifully together to create a smart, elegant finish throughout.

Thinking about updating your floors before Christmas? Now is a great time to get in touch to discuss your project and check fitting availability before the festive season.

A statement stair runner can completely transform a staircase. ✨

This one features Hugh Mackay Jacquard Boa, bespoke cut for a stair runner and finished with Pumpkin binding and Antique stair rods for a classic, characterful look.

The landing and second flight of stairs have been fitted in Alternative Flooring Anywhere, Car-Pet Panama, creating a practical contrast while keeping the whole staircase looking cohesive.

A great example of how different styles can work together to create something a little more individual.

CLASSIC OAK, WITH A CLEANER LOOK

A recent Amtico Signature installation in Classic Oak using a thinner plank, laid throughout the kitchen and cloakroom.

Keeping the overall scheme simple and timeless.

A great example of how a classic wood look can work across different spaces in the home.

WE LOVE SEEING THE FINISHED RESULT

There’s something great about seeing a floor once the room is finished and everything has been put back in place.

We’ve seen plenty of beautiful spaces after fitting, but sometimes we don’t get to see the finished room.

So if you’ve had your flooring fitted by us, tag in your photos and use .

We’d love to see what you’ve done with the space and share some of your finished rooms with our followers.

HELLO AUTUMN 🍂

We’ve given the showroom window a seasonal refresh, saying goodbye to summer and welcoming autumn with leaves, pumpkins and even a few carpet pinecones.

Astronomical autumn officially begins today, but here at Barnes we’re already starting to look towards the end of the year.

Our diary is beginning to fill for what’s looking like a busy few months ahead, and with Christmas not too far away, now is a good time to start thinking about that new carpet, flooring or rug you’ve been putting off.

A little planning now can make things much easier as we head towards the festive season.

And if you’re passing, take a look at our new window display. 🍂

MEET REM 🐾

Rem has been part of the Barnes Flooring team for a while now, but we thought it was time he had a proper introduction.

He wasn’t exactly recruited.

Rem found one of our team members, decided he liked the look of us, and more or less moved himself in.

Since then, he’s become a familiar face around the showroom and an important part of the Barnes team.

He may not know much about flooring, but he certainly knows how to make himself at home.

NEW TO THE SHOWROOM | UNNATURAL FLOORING

Looks natural. Isn’t.

We’ve recently added Unnatural Flooring to the showroom, an independent UK brand specialising in practical, low-maintenance flooring inspired by natural materials such as sisal, seagrass, jute and wool.

You get the look and texture of natural flooring, with the benefits of a hard-wearing, easy-clean alternative.

And like us, they’re independent and have been doing things their own way since 2005.

They also turn their flooring into bespoke, made-to-measure rugs, handmade to order in Devon.

A great new addition to the showroom. Come and take a look.

Last week we installed a bespoke Amtico floor using Amtico Form Gotland Oak, with a basket weave design and border through the entrance, while the living room, kitchen and W.C. were finished in plank.

The installation involved a bit more preparation than usual. Part of the floor was installed over existing tiles, while another section needed to be built up to match the existing tile thickness.

Once the preparation was right, it was all about getting the basket weave, border and plank layouts looking just right.

A great example of how careful preparation can make all the difference to the finished floor.
