TREND 02 | LIGHTING AS SCULPTURE

Lighting is no longer simply about illumination.

Increasingly, decorative lighting is being used as a sculptural element within an interior — creating impact through form, scale and material, even when the fitting isn’t illuminated.

Oversized pendants, organic silhouettes and bespoke installations can become focal points, helping to define a space, create rhythm and add another layer to the architecture.

The most successful pieces don’t just light the interior — they become part of the interior.

It doesn’t always mean designing something completely from scratch.

Sometimes it’s taking an existing design and changing the details.

A different diameter.

A longer drop.

A different finish.

A new configuration.

A modification to suit a particular ceiling condition.

Or combining multiple fittings to create one installation.

For us, bespoke is about making the product work around the project — rather than asking the designer to compromise the scheme around a standard product.
