As part of the newcomer florist of the year, we were asked to create a heart to be placed at the foot of a tree in the Enchanted forest. So when I got home, I couldn't resist putting it underneath the tree in my garden.

Wow what a whirlwind this weekend has been competing in the 2026 BFA Newcomer florist of the year. I had such an amazing experience competing in the live finals.

Thank you to the British Florist Association and the sponsor OASIS® Floral Products UK for organising the completion on such a lovely theme of the Enchanted Forest. And thank you to the UK Floristry Judges Guild for the encouragement and advice.

And especially thank you to Sue for being such an amazing assistant throughout the weekend, I couldn't have made it through without you and to Allan and Charlotte from East Durham College | Peterlee & Houghall, Durham for all the support.
