Couldn't resist a quick pic of this cute Star pond yacht with the sea in the background. Now obviously if I were a cleverer photographer, I might make it look like it were actually floating out there, but it is designed to float in a pond. A great accessory for the coastal home. In really good condition.

No place like home...although strictly speaking this is the other half of the cottages here. Mine is, as yet, less abundantly floral. The trees are starting to enclose us now , ferociously growing after the rain.
A rest day after the joy that was Newark antiques fair. I had thought for a long time that it might be a good plan to cram the van with some of my older stock and long term keepers and have a good cleanse. I am pleased to report that the van was considerably lighter on the way home and that I was remarkably restrained and made very few purchases.
Big thanks to Karl of and to Ralph and Gary for their never ending support. I would have struggled without your help.
Especially to all those who popped in, chatted and of course purchased.
Of course, after a long time of banter on here with and longing to see the temptations that he and offer, I finally got to purchase something I have wanted for a really long time. Because we all want a sorcerers mirror don't we? And perhaps I might see reflected, as I sit by a crackling fire on a winters evening, the shadow of tenants past, in the little cottage. Happy souls who have lived and laughed and loved here, because I know many did.
And now on to a week of gardening, because the gardens have missed me after a steady series of fairs..🥴

Early start at Newark. So exciting to have finally got here after years of wanting to.

Going to be attempting to unbury this huge antique pine shelving from the store to bring to Newark. Apparently salvaged from a Cornish coastal townhouse. Measures 109cm x 62cm x 204cm.

I know that a few of you have heard my news already, and for most it really won't seem like a big deal. I'm going to Newark....at last...after years of wanting to go.
It has always seemed like an impossible dream as I have been saddled with debts from a broken relationship 20 odd years ago and had utterly lost my confidence. 10 years ago it was a standing joke that I wouldn't cross the border out of Cornwall.
So now tis time to cram my van to it's full capacity and drag out the items that haven't seen the light of day in many years. Look out for me in the shopping arcade or listen out for the laughing as I will be pitched near the dearest of friends, , and Gary of . If, in the meantime, you see anything you like here and I don't need to try to cram it in the van, give me a virtual shout.

After a fabulous fair at yesterday selling antiques, back to the day job today in glorious Devon gardens
Big thanks to Harriet and George for their hospitality yesterday at such a lovely venue, and to all who visited and purchased. It means a great deal to all of us.

I first encountered the work of when working in a customer's garden. They had commissioned a table from him at the much missed Country Garden Festival in Devon.
Fast forward several years and I now get to regularly see a number of his projects such as a swimming pool wall, and surrounds for large garden urns.
I will have a small selection of these handmade tiles at tomorrow which can be used with or without frames either on a table or wall mounted.
Will is also available for commissions such as this stunning Aga splashback with swallows and housemartins. How much better to have something completely unique in your home.

So how have you been coping in the recent, suddenly Mediterranean style weather? I had my fire lit last week!
Or have you been sipping iced coffee outside a cafe, or better still, taking a dip in a cool river.
I love this joyful French scene frame a framed tapestry just purchased. Obviously far from original but after David Tenier from the 1600's, a wonderful celebratory scene of dancers, a fiddler, a naughtly dog and revelllers quaffing cool beer.
Hope you had a similar bank holiday.
Another reminder of our joyous antique fair at near Wadebridge in Cornwall this coming Sunday. We will have furniture, art, textiles, old tools, lighting.
Dogs welcome (on leads of course). Undercover for shade if you need it and of course, coffee and cake.
Hope to see you there.

It has been a while, as I have been reining in and clearing old stock, but new purchases for the antiques air on next Sunday near Wadebridge in Cornwall.
I will have a small selection of French confit pots along with other French items and new stock recently purchased.
A great collection of dealers gathered together for you, along with coffee and cake to help you make those important decisions.
My fave item is being kept back... mostly so that I can decide if I can part with it 🤣.
