We’re digging into the archives today with M/Y Exuma, a 50m superyacht built by Perini Navi at the legendary Picchiotti yard in Italy, for whom we were proud to supply bespoke linens onboard. ⚓️

Exuma was the first motor yacht of the Vitruvius series, conceived with a focus on efficiency for autonomous and reliable navigation.

Long, sleek and lightweight by design, she was built to travel further and faster while using less fuel, with a range of roughly 6,500 nautical miles at 12 knots, going on to complete a five-year circumnavigation that took her across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean and into the Pacific.

Commissions like M/Y Exuma demonstrate why bespoke matters so much in the superyacht world - every piece onboard has to perform as beautifully as it looks, whatever the destination.

When Belmond launched the Britannic Explorer in 2025, it was the first luxury sleeper train experience in England and Wales, and a commission that felt deeply aligned with everything Heirlooms stands for. 🤍

Designed by Albion Nord as more than a luxury interior, the Britannic Explorer set a new standard for British rail travel.

We were honoured to be part of that story, supplying bespoke bed linens for the train's sleeping cabins across its 18 suites accommodating 36 guests, travelling three-night itineraries from London Victoria through Cornwall, the Lake District and Wales. We also supplied interior and exterior towels, table linens and bedding throughout the train.

For Heirlooms, a commission aboard the Britannic Explorer represents everything we believe in - British craftsmanship, beautiful design, and the luxury of details that most guests will feel before they notice.

We are enormously proud to have played our part in what is one of Britain's most luxurious travel experiences.

Developed in the early 19th century by French weaver Joseph Marie Jacquard, the jacquard loom revolutionised the way complex patterns could be created in fabric.

Rather than applying a design to the surface through printing or embroidery, jacquard weaving builds the pattern directly into the structure of the cloth itself, interlacing warp and weft threads to create depth, texture and permanence.

The result is a fabric where the pattern cannot fade, peel or wear away, crucially because it is not on the fabric - it is the fabric.

Run your hand across a jacquard weave and you feel the design as much as you see it; a raised, dimensional quality that no other technique quite replicates.

At Heirlooms, jacquard forms the foundation of several of our most treasured collections - each one woven in Italy from the finest cotton and hand-finished in our West Sussex workshop.

It is one of the oldest marks of quality in fine linen, and one we are proud to carry forward.
