Behind this fire place we found a very old and sotty sofa cushion, a load of newspaper 📰 from #1984 😆 we took off the plaster board off, as it’s a combustible item ♨️❌ replaced it with fire board ✅

We took out the existing and replaced with a completely new set up, what a difference it has made 🔥🔨 🧱 ⚒️ 🪜

We run a new 316 liner 5” with (10 yrs warranty) to make the new multi fuel stove with (10 yrs warranty) we installed more fuel efficient. Finished with a nice new cowl on the chimney pot to stop rain 🌧️ wind 💨 birds nesting 🐦

Plus put a beautiful new half under the stove, just need to tile the surrounding next.

We get asked a lot about emissions from wood burning stoves. We only sell eco design stoves, if you have an older stove or an open fire you can improve the efficiency and amount of logs required to generate the same amount of heat if you have an older heat source.

Ecodesign 2022

Ecodesign is the European-wide programme to lower emissions that came into force for wood burners in the UK in Jan 2022. All woodburning stoves manufactured from 2022 onwards must meet the new regulations. The initiative is in response to DEFRA’s Clean Air Strategy which aims to reduce emission and improve air quality over the next 25 years. This strategy sits alongside three other important UK government strategies: Industrial Strategy, Clean Growth Strategy and the 25 Year Environment Plan.

An Ecodesign stove can reduce PM emissions by 90% compared to an open fire, 80% compared to a 10 year-old stove and over 40% when compared with a DEFRA Exempt stove.
