I never watch the news anymore, it makes me too sad. This morning, I caught a bit while having my morning coffee and partly it was about the insane amount of plastic waste 🗑 only 9% of plastic is recycled ♻️
I try to do my bit, it's a small amount, but everything helps. New year, I will focus on not using so much plastic.
And then the importance of supporting small businesses. 68% of the money spent stays here. With big business, it goes elsewhere.
I still say I am not a business, I make macrame for a hobby, and I sell extremely cheaply. To make more, I need to sell more.
I admit, I am also part of the problem as I spend for ease and mainly financial reasons, I can't always afford to shop small, but I try, so I understand, as small businesses do have to charge more. But if you can afford to support small and local, please do. 🙏
I have not made any new macrame Christmas decorations this year apart from the little trees on sticks that I've shared, simply to use up the ropes I have. I will be gifting them, but dm me if you'd like some😊
The little angel on my mini tree was a trial. It's survived being packed away. I haven't made any more yet. But dm me if you'd like one. 🥰
