It was a bit of a last minute decision to finish this black porcelain salt pig in Chartreuse, but I think it really paid off because I love it. But I would love to know what you think…

After a long break from both the studio and posting on IG I have started back in the studio this week.

It was an utter joy to pull out a bag of black porcelain and get started on some orders and a little project that’s been in my head for quite a while.

This clay is not as easy for me to throw as the white porcelain, but it’s a dream to turn if you catch it at the right moment.

Today I have spent my day outside sanding this batch of work.

I need to get the orders out in the post next week, so there was no choice but to don my hat and scarf and head out to sand them, ready to start glazing tomorrow.

Our week off last week was hectic with Min’s birthday, some cycling and a lot of decorating getting rooms ready for visitors this month - you may have seen some of the progress on my stories.

Hope to share some finished photos soon.

After a wonderfully busy weekend the kiln is loaded again and ready to fire this week - just waiting on 3 little spoons.

This firing will include a small batch of black porcelain pieces - always a joy to play with this material - as I am getting ready for in October.

Looking forward to seeing some of you then.

Kiln almost loaded again ready to fire my last glaze firing before I go away on holiday with Mr S.

We are heading off on a 10 day road trip to Skye in the camper with the dogs. Any recommendations gratefully received folks.

Beautiful Monday here, and I hope you have manners a few minutes out in that gorgeous sun today.
