Knot & Bloom Floral design & macramé

24/06/2026

Gorgeous day yesterday at Sammie’s Flowers. It was our last week of college so we went on a wee trip to this lush flower farm. Sammie grows all sorts of stunning blooms, so we went, we picked and then…it was too hot to make anything (the poor flowers were literally wilting before our eyes), so we all went home to make a bouquet.

A lovely way to wrap up our first year of Level 2., and I adore my bouquet, which is now in a vase in my living room. I now also want to be a flower farmer. With horses of course. And maybe a donkey or two. you in? 🌸🩷

Flowers never fail to bring joy, and this is such a beautiful bouquet. Maybe you’re not meant to love things you make this much but I fell for this purple stunner hook, line and sinker. After feeling really crappy for a few days (hormones raging!) these have lifted me up. Thanks, as always, to and .flowers. Really couldn’t have found a better place to learn. 💜💚

This week’s brief from was to design a wearable piece for a celebrity to wear to attend an awards ceremony. We were asked to create a mood board, create the design and then make it.

Of course I chose the legend that is , creating a corsage in shades of purple to complement her beautiful, fiery hair and adding a pop of yellow for contrast. I tried to use some different types of flower and foliage to echo her unique and individual personality.

Pretty pleased with how it turned out but also some learnings to take forward. Which is the whole idea of learning and practicing! Half term next week, which means a break from wiring, which is much needed after an intense few weeks!

More wiring this week . This time we upped the ante with corsages and wiring Freesia which is pretty fiddly, particularly for this fat fingered, clumsy lady!

I’ve concentrated that hard that my brain and eyes are both exhausted, but I was pretty pleased with how my first corsage turned out. I do find wiring quite therapeutic but I’d had enough by the end of the day.

Two corsages down though and more to come next week as I will be designing a corsage for a celebrity of my choice. Any ideas to throw into the mix??? I already have a strong one but be fun to see what you all think!

These beauties are leftover stock from a pop-up and available to buy now for £22 each. Fabulous as a gift for the plant lover in your life, or as a treat for yourself. I know houseplants bring me lots of joy and they’re also good for your health as they release oxygen into the air. Now is the time that plants start to grow so they can make a beautiful, impactful and natural addition to your home.

They’re plant hangers that hang on a wall so are super easy to put up, you just need a nail and a hammer. No tricky hooks to manage. Lots of gorgeous pastel and boho colours to choose from. Each one holds a 15-17cm plant pot.

Free collection or delivery within a 3-mile radius. I can also post out for an additional P&P charge. Only one of each colour in stock!

Last week at I was honoured to be able to make two beautiful funeral posy pads using white Roses, white spray Roses and lots of gorgeous Eucalyptus. Finished off with a good mist to keep everything looking fresh. I just love how the water droplets settle on the foliage.

Thank you .flowers for the trust, as always.

Spotted a couple of broken fancy Daffies in the garden, so cut a few friends for them and made a little spring posy.
