Tonight I’ve given myself a day off the steps. ❤️

The menopausal insomnia has been doing its absolute best work lately, and honestly, I’d sell a kidney for a proper night’s sleep right now! 😂 Instead of pushing through and forcing myself to get the steps done, I’ve decided to listen to my body and have a restful evening.

So tonight I’ve been snuggled under a blanket, doing absolutely nothing. And for once, I’m not feeling guilty about it. I’m allowing myself to rest, recharge and accept that my body probably needs it more than it needs another few thousand steps.

Of course, nights like this make me think of Flossie. She was the absolute Queen of Sleep. Professional snuggler, blanket thief and expert in making herself comfortable while leaving everyone else with approximately 3 inches of sofa! 🐾❤️ I’d give anything to have her curled up beside me tonight, with those velvety ears and her scrumpled little face.

So I’m hoping she’s up there somewhere sending me some of her magical sleepy vibes tonight. I could definitely do with them! 😴💗

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll wake up feeling a little more human and a little less like a zombie! 😂

This challenge has definitely been challenging in many ways and time is running out! ⏰ The challenge finishes on Monday, so if you’ve been meaning to donate, now really is the time.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, means so much to me and helps make all these steps worthwhile. And if you can’t donate, a share could help this reach someone who can.

Thank you, as always, for all the support, love and encouragement. ❤️

Just a few more days to go. 🐾💗

Day 23 💙

I started today by treating my aching body, knees and slightly frazzled nervous system to a little fire and ice therapy 🔥🧊. Sauna followed by an ice bath… because apparently walking 365,000 steps wasn’t enough punishment 😂.

I managed 30 seconds fully immersed in the ice bath, which is a new achievement for me! The combination of sauna and cold water helps with circulation and the heat was a lovely way to relax and unwind. I'm feeling rather zen now.

But the real highlight of today was receiving the most incredibly generous donation from someone I’ve never even met. Actually I don't even know who they are. They donated in memory of Floss on behalf of their dog, Bagel, so I’m guessing they’re one of the wonderful people from the FB crazy Beagle group 🐶❤️.

I was genuinely blown away by their kindness. It’s moments like this that remind me just how amazing people can be. Their donation will make a real difference to Invictus Wellbeing and the young people they support, and I honestly can’t thank them enough.

And… WE’VE HIT THE TARGET! 🎉

But please don’t let that stop you! Every single extra pound raised can make a difference. If you’ve been thinking about donating but haven’t got round to it yet, now would be a brilliant time. Small donations really do add up, and together we can raise even more for such an important cause.

Thank you, as always, for every donation, share, message and bit of encouragement. It means more than you know ❤️

Now… time for a brew and bed🫖😴

Day 3 💙

Monday definitely had me feeling a little like this... 💛

After a day at work, this evening's walk took me around Ogden Reservoir or Dogden as it is referred to in my household due to Flossie loving to go walkies there. It was my first visit after losing Floss and she was on my mind as I walked today's steps. It felt strange to walk at pace as Floss' walks were never brisk. My poddling Beagle would've stopped every five seconds to sniff something, wade through every bit of bog she could find and make sure she rolled in something unmentionable. Walks are definitely less eventful these days 😅❤️

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my posts, sent messages, or cheered me on. I can't believe I'm nearly halfway to my fundraising goal already!!! You guys are amazing 👏 please keep it going and help me raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause 💙💙💙 Just Giving link in bio xx

✨ The countdown is on... ✨

This Saturday, 1st August, my 365,000 Steps for Invictus Wellbeing challenge officially begins.

Throughout August, I'll be walking 365,000 steps to celebrate my first year with Invictus Wellbeing and to raise money for a charity that means so much to me.

When I first set myself this challenge, I imagined every step with my little sidekick by my side. Losing her has made this journey feel very different to how I expected. There will be walks through places we explored together countless times, and taking those first steps without her won't be easy.

But that's exactly why I'm doing it. This challenge is about keeping moving forward, even when life feels heavy. It's about healing, reflection, and supporting an organisation that believes in the strength and potential of young people every single day.

If you'd like to support me, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help make a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who has already been encouraging me. Your kindness means more than you know.

This month, every step is for Invictus... and a few of them will be for my beautiful Flossie too. I'll miss having her physically beside me on every walk, but she'll be with me every single step of the way. 🐾💛

Yesterday marked 12 months since I started working as a Therapeutic Practitioner and now as a Senior at Invictus Wellbeing as part of Team YIM

Reaching this milestone felt like something worth marking, and what better way than fundraising for a charity that means so much to me.

I feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a passionate, empowering collective of people who place the young people we work with at the centre of everything we do. Invictus has grown hugely since it began, but its values and ethos remain exactly the same — and that’s something really special to be part of.

So… onto the fundraising challenge.

To mark 365 days with Invictus, I’ve decided to walk 365,000 steps throughout August.

This won’t be an easy challenge for me — physically or emotionally.

When I first planned this, I imagined doing it with my doggo sidekick by my side. As many of you know, I recently lost her, which will make this challenge even more difficult than I expected. I’ll be walking through forests and fields that we last explored together, and I haven’t done walkies without her yet.

Because of that, this challenge will be about more than just steps. I’m hoping it will be a chance to heal, reflect, and keep moving forward — while raising money for a fantastic charity that believes in and supports the incredible potential of young people.

I’ll share more closer to the time about how you can support me.

For now — thank you for reading, thank you for supporting, and wish me luck 💛

Our beautiful baby beaglebum Flossie went to sleep for the final time today. She was unique, our soul dog and we are beyond heartbroken. Floss arrived into our lives when we needed her the most and the void she leaves behind is immeasurable. She left this world surrounded by love and being fed her favourite treats...she was the goodest of girls. Thanks Floss for everything you were, everything you brought into our lives and everything you will continue to be. We love you so much ❤️❤️❤️xx
