Walk in. Breathe out.

Your hallway shouldn’t be the obstacle you have to get through before coming home actually starts.

Coats, shoes, parcels, school bags, the stuff nobody’s found a home for - it all has to go somewhere. It just doesn’t have to go right there, dumped in the space you walk through every single day.

These 6 hallways all started in a similar way: too much stuff, not enough thought. Now they’re the first room that actually feels like the home, not the corridor before it.

Some rooms get all the attention. This one got none.

Between the kitchen and the downstairs loo sat a dark, cluttered utility room - laundry, shoes, coats, every guest walking straight through it. Nobody has time to fix the “in-between” spaces when even the main rooms are still on your To Do list.

That’s where I come in. The utility location moved to an under-used space and this became a calm, sleek boot room - everything hidden, nothing on show. And the WC, forgotten for years, finally got the storage and colour scheme it deserved: terracotta William Morris wallpaper, sage panelling, brushed brass.

The rooms you don’t think about are usually the ones your guests notice most.

It’s never one big thing. It’s fifty small decisions, all pointing the same way ✨

And that’s exactly why you get overwhelmed and never start.

This kitchen didn’t need one grand gesture - it needed a hundred tiny ones that all agreed with each other.

The Oval Room Blue on the island - quiet nod to the home’s Edwardian bones. The antiqued mirror on the splashback? It doubles the glow of the hand-made pendants and gives the room a dimension it never had. Brass handles pick up the warmth of the original stained leaded glass just through the hallway. 40mm ogee-edged quartz, solid oak painted doors, warm tumbled limestone underfoot — each one a small, deliberate choice that ties the room back to the character of the house.

And then there’s how the family lives. A daughter who genuinely loves to cook got a dedicated spice drawer, huge pantry, deep drawers built for baking trays, a Quooker, and a proper appliance cupboard to keep the worktops clear for actual cooking. The new island was made bigger and given a sociable curve, purely so the family could sit, chat and cook side by side rather than across a straight run of units.

None of these details shout on their own. But put them all together in one kitchen, and the house and the family who live in it both feel completely understood.

Thank you to David Timperley Interiors for another great project - those hours we spent at the computer and all those tiny decisions made on site came together in the most stunning way 🪄

It’s not your job to spot this. It’s mine.

Most people, given the chance to redo this room, would have put everything back roughly where it was. Same disjointed kitchen footprint. Same dining space eating up half the floor. Same frustrations, just with nicer finishes.
But when you’re balancing a family and a career and you haven’t had headspace to update your house in 15 years, you don’t have time to stand in a room and imagine it differently. That’s not a criticism - that’s life. It narrows your view to “fix what’s broken,” not “what could this actually be?”
So I looked at the whole space, not just the kitchen brief I was given. If we moved the kitchen to the opposite end of the room, we’d get a much bigger kitchen and could free up this recessed alcove entirely - turning it into something the old layout could never have given them.
Custom U-shaped banquette. Seating for 8+. Antiqued mirror so the space never feels dark. Wall lights at exactly the right height. Ceiling moulding extended through from the kitchen side to zone the living area properly. The bar unit and media wall connected by a cornice flyover so the joinery reads as one piece. Lighting cable plates installed in the windowsill for table lamps wired to the switch. A sofa made to measure, sized to fit the exact footprint of the room.
None of it was on my client’s list. She came to me with a kitchen project.
That’s what happens when someone else has the vision, so you don’t have to. 🧡

She didn’t know she needed it. Now it’s essential.

This was a dining room. Barely used, quietly neglected, slowly becoming the place parcels went to await their fate.

Now it’s the room that makes everything else in the house work - a beautiful, spacious utility room that actually does its job, so the rest of the home can breathe.

My client didn’t come to me with this idea. She came to me with a kitchen project and trusted me to look at the rest. This is what happens when you trust someone with the vision to look beyond ‘The Brief’.

If you’ve got a project that you’ve been putting off because you don’t know where to start – or all you can see are problems - that’s exactly where I come in.

This Edwardian hallway in a beautiful family home had the bones of something special: original ceiling moulding, a galleried landing, classic archways…. but it was dark grey, dimly lit, and felt more like a corridor to rush through than a space to welcome you home.

✨ We didn’t change what made this house special. We just accentuated what was already there.

✨ Every decision - the marble, the paint, the lighting, the little details - was made and managed by me. The owners didn’t chase trades or spend hours in showrooms. They just walked back into a hallway that finally matched the rest of their home.

💫If you’ve been putting off a refresh because you simply don’t have the time, drop me a DM and let’s talk. 💫

When life changes, your home should too.

This family hadn’t touched their kitchen in 10 years. Life had moved on - careers, teenage kids, a different rhythm - but their home hadn’t kept up. That’s life – but it was time for a change.

So we rethought everything. Not just the aesthetics, but how they actually live now.

💫 The kitchen location moved entirely to create a curved sociable island for everyday meals.
💫 We freed up space further by moving the large dining table that was only used sporadically into a beautiful banquette nook - tucked away for gatherings, out of the way the rest of the time.
💫 We created a custom sofa to maximise the remaining space and then layered on features such as a media wall, a small bar and smart lighting system with one-touch scenes.

A space that works as hard as they do and feels incredible when they stop.

This room used to feel so cold, but a beautiful, tumbled buff limestone floor with underfloor heating now makes bare feet a joy in January.

Warm neutrals, warm-based blue and touches of soft orange give the space life. Antiqued mirror adds depth at both ends, reflecting the understated yet striking lighting.

The result? A home that finally reflects the life they’re actually living.

If you’ve been putting off a refresh because you simply don’t have the time to figure it all out - that’s where I can help.
