It’s been lovely having bookings from new AND returning students looking to give some of their furniture some upholstery TLC. I can’t wait to get working with you this autumn!

Learn upholstery this October! 😄

Whether a beginner or someone returning after a while away, meet like minded people and get stuck into a furniture project this autumn.

We will only have a max of 5 people on each course and every student gets their own compressor staple gun to use throughout 🙌🏻

Evening Reupholstery Course this October 🙌🏻

So I have decided to put on 1 more course for 2026 (oh you lucky ducks 😄).
I often get asked about evening workshops and haven’t had one this year so hoping we can get some budding upholsterers transforming furniture this autumn.

This course shall be over 4 consecutive weeks and there is 3 options:

- 4 sessions total taking place on each Tuesday of October.
- 4 sessions total taking place on each Wednesday of October.
- 8 sessions total taking place on all the Tuesdays and Wednesdays of October

Your choice will no doubt be determined by your availability, the size of your item (or several items) your location and budget.

The course is open to all levels. If you are a beginner and never undertaken upholstery before, choosing suitable difficulty level items will be important. Please just send me a message to this messenger or [email protected] and I can best advise.
This is also advisable for anybody looking at bringing something that may be complicated 😂

Price: £250 or £475
Class: I will only ever have a maximum of 5 people on a class (so everyone can have there own compressor staple gun which are super fun to use) however there will need to be at least 3 people on each class to go ahead 👍🏻

Our September upholstery workshop weekend is SOLD OUT!
Thanks for everyone’s interest and to those who have booked on 😄👍🏻

Currently we don’t have any other workshops booked in, though am busy planning ideas for our early 2027 courses which are always popular!

HOWEVER, if there is interest I’m considering putting on an evening course over this autumn (probably within October).
Would be over 4 weeks probably, although I may do a Wednesday and Thursday slot each week so people could do 8 sessions in total if they have a bigger project.

Anyway would be great to get your feedback and if there is interest in this course?

Why I think our Upholstery workshops are the best!

- We never have more than 6 people on a workshop, for maximum time with your teacher (me) 😄

- Every student gets their own compressor staple gun for the duration of the course

- Our workshop is hugggee loads of space to works with and a big old cutting table

- Loads of space for parking (this probably seems trivial but not having to stress or pay for parking is underrated)

- You meet likeminded, lovely people!
Okay this might not be completely unique to me but I’ve not had a group yet that aren’t awesome!

I could probably go on, but I shall let you get back to your evening! 😄👍🏻

Wow, how has this been nearly 4 years!
This was one of our early Beginner Footstool workshop weekends (at our old base).

It was, and still is, our most popular course as it is a brilliant introduction to upholstery.

You will learn about the tools (such as the air staple gun, which are particularly good fun) and materials used as well as covering lots of techniques including webbing, cutting fabric correctly, applying studs and buttoning.

And best of all, you take home your own piece of furniture which will last a lifetime! (No jumping on it 😂)

Whether just yourself (you’ll make friends very quickly), with a pal or booking your own bespoke workshop with your group, this is the ideal intro to your new favourite hobby!

Did you know I have a furniture shop via my Lakes and Fells website?

So when I’m not teaching upholstery or doing reupholstery commissions for my clients I’m making my own furniture items to sell!

I design all of the patterns myself and splash them over all sorts of items. My patterns are quite colourful and meant to create a bit of POW factor in a room.
I have a lot of Cumbrian/Lake District themed patterns (such as the my Wordsworth pattern which is on the medium sized footstool you see here).

I also sell these patterns on furnishing or upholstery fabrics by the metre if you wanted to use any for your own projects (cushions, curtains, headboard, chairs etc)
