Final layer incoming! FINALLY šŸ˜… Iā€™ve taken my sweet time over this moody seascape woodcut, itā€™s 11 layers of inky goodness in total. I really enjoyed trying out woodcut, especially loved the feel and sound of carving each layer, and Iā€™m happy that some subtle woodgrain shows through and lends some added texture to the finished print.

Layer 10 incoming, Otto the temp studio dog showing me some treasures he found (including my socks, of course!) OK, so I know I said this would be the last layer, but for me printmaking is a fluid see-how-you-go process, and I think I fancy putting one more layer down. I might just have to stare at it for a bit while I decide!

Layer 9 incoming, featuring my very cute and distracting temp studio dog, Otto. Hopefully just one more layer to go on this reduction woodcut, bringing out the detail of the rocks in the middle. Sound on for some printmaking ASMR and doggo tappy toes.

Hereā€™s my art vs artist for 2025. Itā€™s admittedly a bit puffin-heavy šŸ˜… I havenā€™t made as many new prints this year as Iā€™d like but Iā€™ve enjoyed experimenting more and I finally got my act together and took part in some markets. Some inky highlights this year:
ā­ļø Trying out new printmaking techniques - wood engraving, woodcut, and falling in love with tetrapak printing thanks to the challenge.
ā­ļø Printing my most intricate reduction print yet ā€œWaiting for the Storm to Passā€, designed for this yearā€™s .
ā­ļø Taking part in the held at , such a lovely venue and atmosphere.
