These four beautiful 1930s ship liner chairs came in for new seats and inside backs. The customer chose a beautiful aniline leather from . The seats were stripped down to the frame taking out the old tire strips/webbing and rebuilt with new webbing and foam and seat covers stitched together. The inside backs were replace and finished off with edging and decorative nails. Must admit they fell into the category of chairs I didn’t want to give back.

This little beauty left the workshop/shop this week. Was sad to see it go. It was a pleasure to do. I did a partial rebuild on the back and some new padding on the seat. What was so lovely was, for me, the perfect pairing of fabric and chair. My client sent me the photo of it back home and I think the Amazon fabric and the lampshade is a match made in heaven. Bloody lovely. Enjoy!

It’s was lovely to work on theses clasic Jentiqie chairs with the fab-u-lous fabric recently. Transported from vinyl to a velvet jungle. This classic Parker Knoll chair was in a dreadful state when I collected it from a damp old barn. Full of spiders 😩🕷️🕷️🕷️, missing an arm and had a broken spring mounting But with the help from who carved and crafted a bespoke hand rest and who plasm cut new spring mountings it now sits most days in pride of place in window in Bear Street. Rebuilt from the frame up and covered in a stunning Linwood • Fabrics, Wallpapers & Cushions fabric. Which ive been dying to get my hands on for ages. A fab team effort Thank you all. 🙏

Red alert. Two chairs in red this month. The check chair was a v well used dog chair and we rebuilt from the frame up with new foams and undercrackers while the little bent wood fireside chair was decked out in some lovely wool fabric from . I used the chair as part of the Remberance display in the window and will now use to show customers how lush wool is on a chair. I have another one of the same that I have more wooly plans for.

Sorry for radio silence on here but this is why! Chair the Love has a new home - we are now based in Barnstaple in our very own workshop/shop in Bear Street. It’s been a manic couple of months getting it all done, but super exciting and we are now OPEN. It’s still very much a work in progress and will post more in the coming weeks. You can now find me at 51a Bear Street, Barnstaple. Pop in any time!
