⚽️Rother League U12 Match Report⚽️
Uckfield Grasshoppers Junior Oaks🆚HAFC Falcons

An away day this Saturday for our U12s but perfect conditions in Uckfield for a game of football, with the sun in the sky and no sign of an Autumn chill, long may it continue🤞.
With results now being published in our age group we have a bit more of an idea of what we’re up against most weeks and Uckfield have taken points from some tough games so that let us know what to expect, it was a battle out there for our boys and girls.
We began with a real urgency today breaking through their back line on a few occasions and probably should have got ourselves two or three goals in front early on, with a bit more composure. We made the breakthrough in the first half with what was probably one of the more difficult of the chances we had, a great cut back across the box to Harv who put his left foot through the ball as it rocketed past the keeper who could do nothing about it. Great finish!
Second half. We were still very much on top for periods once we got out of our defensive third, but the second goal didn’t come. Our lack of a bit of composure in front of goal seemed to have been the order of the day defensively too as we rode our luck on quite a few occasions, we were doing the right things and defensively working our socks off but when it came to finding the composure on the ball to clear our lines we were putting the ball back into danger multiple times and were really luck not to concede. As it was we did just enough to see out the game with the single goal deciding it and a good showing overall.
We will work on that composure and playing defensively under pressure over the next few sessions. Plenty of positives as well as we were seeing some of our players really start to read each others play and movement and with lots of subs today it was a game where we didn’t lose too much momentum with the constant changes which shows how the group understand what we expect of them!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Up the Falcons! ❤️💙

The busiest player on the pitch when we don’t have the ball and today was no different, puts himself about and constantly covering defensively. Brilliant👏

Goal scorer and our captain! Setting standards as always and constantly a threat. The workrate off the ball is what I love to see the most though. Quality performance again!🤝
