I recently visited Redwood Joinery in Woolavington to hear concerns about proposed housing development planned next to this long-established local business.
Redwood Joinery has been part of the village for more than 35 years and employs local people in skilled jobs. The business is understandably concerned that building homes directly next to a working joinery workshop could lead to future complaints about noise and put pressure on their long-term future.
Developments need to be planned properly with meaningful engagement and protections in place from the outset, not creating problems for existing employers years down the line.
