🎨⚓ PAINTING OF THE WEEK – OH BUOY, WHAT A BEAUTY! ⚓🎨

Ahoy, me hearties! This week's offering is a rather oar-some maritime painting by Frederick Tordoff (1939–2022). 🌊

Fred was born in Whitley Bay and spent years working aboard ships before turning his hand to painting them. Clearly a man who knew his stern from his elbow! 😂

With its delicate colours, majestic sailing ship and gloriously grand gilt frame, this little beauty is absolutely ship-shape and Bristol fashion!

And unlike most sailors, it won't drink all your rum, swear at the neighbours or disappear for six months without calling! 🍹🤣

🎨✨ PAINTINGS OF THE WEEK ✨🎨
What is better then one painting of the week...... Two paintings of the week!
This week we have a rather lovely pair… and we think they're quite the catch! ❤️
Two beautiful original watercolours by British artist Wiggs Kinnaird (1875–1915), capturing the English countryside in all its glory.
🍂 "On the Dart, Devon" – A charming thatched cottage nestled amongst golden autumn trees beside the river.
🌿 "On the Avon, near Breamore" – A peaceful riverside scene with grazing cattle, distant cottages and rolling hills.
Both are over 100 years old, full of wonderful detail and beautifully presented in magnificent ornate gilt frames.
All the charm of country living, without the muddy boots, unpredictable weather or the occasional cow blocking your driveway! 🐄😂
A fabulous matching pair that have stood the test of time — and unlike most things over 100 years old, they still look rather good together! 😉
