From April I will also be offering GRP roofing to small scale roofs to tie into my daily work. Such as Bay window roofs and porch roofs. Thanks.

Hopefully the government will make a u-turn on this trickle vent fiasco one day. It amazes me how today we continue make houses air tight so they can't breath and then put trickle vents on windows so the houses can breath. And then reduce the rating of a window from an A To potentially a B-, but the window is still considered A rated at sale .. 🤷. Im sure the government think people don't know how to open a window and how to advise this. Trickle vents are one of the worst possible things a government could implement on a house.

What are the positives of trickle vents
*Absolutely none

What are the negatives of trickle vents.
*Increased cost on window purchase
*Let in more outside noise
*Let in draughts even when closed
*Increased energy bills especially in winter in the uk
*Potential humming noise.
*Make a window look absolutely hideous

There is a lot of these foam seals for windows you can buy locally from shops or online to stop draughty uPVC windows. uPVC Windows and doors already contain rubber gaskets when manufactured/installed. If everything mechanical is working correctly then there should be no need to use these foam seals as an add-on. It's always best to find out the route cause of the problem instead of doctoring it yourself. Which one of my customers did and the upstairs window sash snapped away from the whole frame and landed on the floor doing none repairable damage. A whole new window had to be installed.
So just be cautious on things like this.
