When I was at the unravel… a festival of yarn in September, I got to meet the wonderful Jeanette Sloan BEM and see her beautiful stand with all the lovely beadwork she incorporates into her knitting designs 🧶

I couldn’t resist the kit with the orange and pink colour combo and I found time to knit it last weekend.

It was nice getting back into knitting with beads again and I now have a new scarf to wear! 😃

I really love the box pleat shoulder detail on this recent top I knitted.

In my 15 years of designing knitwear, I had never designed this style of sleeve cap before so it was exciting to try something different!

This style of sleeve cap was very popular in the 1940s and I wanted to design a 1940s inspired top with this gorgeous Portuguese wool from Lopo Xavier

Last October I had the pleasure of visiting the amazing .lx in Porto, Portugal 🇵🇹 and I’ve had great fun recently knitting a top with the wool I purchased 🧶🧶🧶

This time last year I was in Porto, Portugal 🇵🇹 where I got to visit the wonderful Lopo Xavier and purchased this gorgeous Portuguese wool from them.

Several weeks ago, I gave a sneak peek of a wip of the garment I’d been working on with this lovely wool and I look forward to sharing photos soon of what I made 🧶🧶🧶

I had a lovely gift delivered to me in my studio this week from Ed Reif which is a book he has written about Fair Isle whilst he was living there during the Global Pandemic.

I met Ed and Sarah the other weekend at Findon Sheep Fair which I was attending with Small Flock Yarns

We soon discovered we had a mutual love of Fair Isle and I said how I plan to visit one day 🧶🧶🧶

Ed told me he had written a book about this wonderful place so it was really lovely of him to send me this book.

Thanks Ed! I’m looking forward to reading it this weekend 💕💕💕

This sweater is a hybrid knit where I knitted the main body on my knitting machine using the fair isle punch card facility and the neckline, cuffs and hem are knitted by hand in the round using a circular needle 🧶🧶🧶
