Vintage kilim fragments — a little bundle for artists, makers and textile lovers.

These are the final pieces left over from our kilim cushion and pouf making in Turkey. When we are away buying, we choose old handmade kilims, often ones needing repair, and reuse all the good sections.

We love the fact that these old textiles can be repurposed and recycled rather than wasted, and we have started saving some of the smaller remaining fragments too. They would be lovely for framing, textile art, sewing, collage and other creative projects.

Our new shipment of our fabulous vintage Tribal Afghan Baluch carpet cushions has arrived! We don’t get these often and are coveted by our customers🌸 They really are something very special, originally having been woven by hand for utilitarian use such as bags or saddle bags but in their new lives today they work as stunning, decorative chair or sofa cushions or even wall hangings 🧶🧶🧶🧶

At last we have managed to hunt down this wonderful colourful hand dyed cotton. 🧶We have been trying to find this particular very strong thread in Turkey for a while; we use it for some of our rug repairs as well as for sewing up our tribal sacks and cushions after stuffing. We need tough, non shiny thread for these jobs. At least we have enough now to last us for some time! 🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶

⭐️ Fresh in today! ⭐️ A Turkish Cal Handwoven Kilim Rug 153x283cm ⭐️ we have been holding back this beauty for a while but we finally photographed it for everyone to see, it’s a favourite I have to say! ⭐️ this is an absolutely stunning vintage village made traditional Kilim. It really has something very special about it. The mix of vibrant colours and the way the tones twist and turn make it look like a painting. A real statement piece that would look beautiful in any setting 🌻🌻

We thought we would show you some of our Uzbek Ikat Robes (chapans) as they are things of such beauty. 🦜We don’t have these on our website as they are all quirky and not standard sizing. Some are stunning older pieces and some are new and all, except the Turkoman striped red one, are made from classic ikat hand loomed fabrics. 🌸 These robes would traditionally be worn by both women and men, as daily clothing as well as on special celebratory occasions. Our customers love them as house robes or flamboyant, decorative coats! 🦚 I’m around a size 14 and 5.2 tall, so it gives you an idea of how they fit my size. Please listen to the video for the pricing of each piece as they are all different. (No. 2 is currently unavailable). Apologies for the amateur modelling 🤣🤣🤣
